what sort of figures would you expect on a std engine??
MIDRANGE TORQUE is what makes a quick AND usable car.
Gaining huge peak POWER figures are excellent for impressing people, but when it comes to making a fast car from corner to corner, they mean s**t.
red diesel is about the cheapest you'll get, at the pump its at about 60p/l at the moment. in bulk its a few pence less.
depends where you live I guess, when you live in rural areas you find that petrol stations will often sell it ;)
Yeah you can on the VEMS, from speed density to alphaN.
I would ditch the VEMS personally in the process though...
Did you find the spec of the cams Andy? Probably has the part number stamped on the end of the exhst cam.
Sounds about bang on right for a "nice" set of cams, they typically...
In an ideal world, where rods dont stretch, pistons dont rock at tdc, cranks dont flex or twist, then maybe.
As it stands all of the obove occurs.
And this isnt taking into account any of the variables ive listed above (cylinder pressure related).
But hey, every one has their understandings...
every set ive done have given a "noticeable" gain on the road (sustomer feedback, not just mine), without a remap.
On the dyno they have shown around 11bhp peak average, with a nice mid-range gain in torque.
Again, it boils down to the individual workmanship....
Its a common misconception (I used to hold a similar opinion myself, based on nothing other than hearsay really).
I bought a 4 year old one (6spd sequential) from a rally car....so not exactly easy use!
In that time it needed 1 dog ring (3rd/4th) costing £86. Granted it was stripped yearly...
Theres alot of factors with the gearbox's..
Driving style, maintenance, traction etc
I think the main "persona" they have is from the mk1's, with 100k miles on them, on original oil, getting ragged to f**k by some fat boy racer.
Its never gonna last long lol.
Sadev FTW!
Same here really, ive tried a few of the usuals, and Wossner have always made good power, they measure up well, and are c**k on between items.
As far as off-the-shelf goes you cant beat them.
As for gains, well the theoretical increase in power is 2% for every "1" increase in Cr. so taking...
ah lol
well there is a couple of areas I "address" which is seperate from the actual matching. So based on that alone, they arent all going to be the same, no.
Then theres actual quality of workmanship. Somebody matching them with a dremmel isnt goin to have the same effect as somebody...
no its not "fukkin rocket science", but if youve never done one before, or didnt have a full idea about what your trying to do, then you could easily mess it up completely and make the manifolds US.
Aside from that, cost of buying tools to do it:
die grinder--£30-40 (this is based on poor...
£135.00 upon receipt, based on 3-5 people
£125.00 upon reciept, based on 5-10 people
if theres more people, then I can bring it down a bit more.
yup exchange is available.
If its exchange, then the £100 deposit is still applicable.
Is it possible for one person to organise it...
