No, Im using the stuff you put in the fuel tank when nearly empty, fill up blah blah and its supposed to clean all the sh*te out through the fuel line/injectors etc, not gonna use any oil additives as I think decent oil has all it wants in it ?!?! No idea about 80W/140 mate, whats that !?!?

Im guessing you do the filter too ? Ive only done 7K in mine and its had three oil changes, thats only because the previous two I didnt know what they put in it and the third was me trying Mobil 1 for the first time, but unfortunately I was lazy/stupid and left the oldish filter on but it seems...

Getcha mate, maybe I did a few more miles than I thought as it isnt burning oil I dont think, or it was just sh1te oil they put in. Will see how it does on Mobil 1.

Cant really remember how many miles Ive done, but the car was filled with this semi stuff and when I changed the oil it was about a quarter full, which was another reason I thought Id change to Mobil 1. What difference does it make not changing the filter as my cars deffo quieter so Im guessing...

Oh no why ? I had an oil/filter change about 4 months ago, but they used the cheap semi stuff, I read the thread about Mobil 1 so thought Id change to this, have done so but left the filter alone as its quite new. Engine is deffo quieter, was this a mistake ??????????? Thanks

I carefully cut the grommet on my 16v [not sure what its like on yours ?] making it a bit bigger and fed the wire through from the car using a cut down coat hanger, worked for me and it meant no drilling ?

Bondy whats a pbv ? Yeah I am in Kidbrooke which is why Im reluctant to drive up to HP but for the price it may be worth it. With this pbv thingy and a RR is it possible to do it all through the post ? Cheers

I have loads of times along the Rochester Way near me, it does it all the time and Ive never had anything through, would be surprised if you do, the people going past the camera the right way doing 25mph must wonder what the chuff is going on though !!

Ok, how about getting the chip through the post, putting it on and then getting someone a bit more local [not 250 odd miles away] to alter the fuelling if need be ? Or doesnt it work like that, I dont know ? Theres a place near me called Sanspeed who fit chips and have a RR etc, do you think...

MMMMMM have to think about it, Ill be looking at over 250 miles I reckon, round trip, will have to weigh up the pros/cons of going up there. What probs would I be likely to experience if I send the ECU through the post do you think ? Thanks a lot, Mike

Im interested in one of the HP chips too, the thing is they are miles away from me. If I get one sent through the post is it possible to fit it myself, is it a solder in one ? Also, do they have to be set up depending on what mods you have ? Cheers

Cheers everyone, just spoke to someone else, described the problem to him and he guessed what car it was straight away, said it was deffo the clip in 5th, 100 quid labour to get the box out and see what the damage is from there, so fingers crossed its not new gear box time !! Strange no-one else...

Had it checked out by a local transmission place in Erith. He said it was the clip in fifth gear that had gone, apparently 5th is the only gear with this clip which is obviously why the gearstick only moves when in this gear. 300 sovs to repair it though, what do you reckon, take the risk or...

A ha, didnt see this post. Im having the same prob in 5th in my 16v, except its not a slight movement its a large one, but only in 5th ! Am praying its not the box, all gear changes are fine, could this be my mounts ? Are they difficult/expensive to have done ? Sorry to keep going on about it...

Thats why Im hoping its not the box, it doesnt move in any other gear and the gear change itself is fine in all gears, no problem at all. Im far from an expert but would have thought first gear would be the one to go if its the box, not 5th ? Its not been tuned at all either !?
