I just went to the Renault dealer to get a filter (and the washer, a special one with a rubber ring in it that should be changed every time) and they said 'book says 4.9 litres when you do the filter as well'

Anyone know the torque setting for the drain bolt?
Yeah but traders are w*****s and will screw you. With the greatest respect to your brother, he would then put it up for £8100!
I still say that it is worth £7500-8000-ish privately. You may want to put it below £8k as £7900 will catch the eye more for prospective buyers. More interest is the...
For reference, both my friend and I both bought identical 172 Cups in the last 3 weeks. Both were November 2003, mint, but they did both have CLIMATE CONTROL which was a £600 option and only available on the last of the 2003s.
His was £8200 from a private car dealer. Half-worn front tyres but...
scary....now who shall i believe? I reckon the moderator who can spell is a better bet, though who knows? I might go with the wild card illiterate fella and just fill it until it comes out the top :D
just kidding :rasp:
thanks guys
Balls, it'll go for more than that. 9 months warranty still, and 10k miles? If its a minter then put it in for £7700 and it will shift. There were three at that price on Pistonheads and they all had more mileage and were older.
Not true, i am afraid. As per my last post, Climate Control was a £600 option on the last of the 172 Cups. Both mine and my friends are November 2003 and have Climate. Both are the Mondial Blue, the only colour the Cup came in (apart from the limited edition silver 'climate edition' you are...
both my friend and I bought in the last three weeks 172 Cups with Climate Control - it was an option on the last of the 2003s. Ours are both November.
Leather? Over-rated. My last car had leather and i don't miss it. We buy these cars to drive, not fawn over the equipment levels. I do, anyway.
I bought a 172 Cup for a few reasons:
1. Couldn't justify the extra money for a car that isn't really any better
2. 182 is heavier
3. Cup packs do not a Cup make
4. I don't need useless stuff like half leather, cruise control, auto lights and wipers (i mean, really?) - it all weighs extra.
5...
The SPS is the best bit - you can turn it back to standard and it will go through a service at the dealer and no fault codes or anything untoward will come up. But as a map its very old and wasn't much cop. It wasn't designed for the Octy and it boosts too hard early on, making the turbo...
I may be able to help you...
A month ago i sold my 2002 Octy vRS, having owned it since the previous April, and doing 10,000 miles in it, including a trip to the nurburgring.
To replace it i just bought a 2003 Mk2 172 Cup, and i found one with Climate Control. I paid £7800 (from a dealer)...
Civic let down by its lifeless, light steering, says my friend who drove one recently.
I did drive an Integra Type R on Monday and my 172 Cup was the better drive. By a fair way. I was disappointed, i am surprised to say; i expected better.
In fact, my friend (who has been looking for an...
As soon as he asked the question i was thinking Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo. Stunningly beautiful, streets ahead of any Renault etc. Fast as well; 220hp as standard and they chip easily.
Or Integra Type R? For that money tho, its early import time
it isnt a daily driver for me (i have a van for that) so it will be getting a few choice mods to make it a better track and fast road car
sussies, possible de-cat pipe?
nothing major though
it will be at the 'ring in a few months so it is going to be modded to be the best 'ring toy' it can...
Norris309 who on this thread, yesterday:
http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?t=125170
mentioned that there was a minter of a late-2003 172 Cup with the very rare Climate Control pack somewhere in Bristol. Minutes later i was calling the Renault dealers in Bristol having found them...
Just found this; quite a good review and highlights the differences between 172 and CUP
