Dephasers as a rule don't sound so knocky like yours, more diesel like. That sounds more like failure on the way, rather than just some slop in a dephaser :(
but hey, first time for everything....
I'll probably go as its only 15mins down the road :) I know a few other local guys who will be going too (not CS)
Apparently there will be public track time but there isnt much detail on this, not sure if it'd be the full 300, 200 or 100 track though?
Very tempted to get this done to mine (I still have play in steering so I assume the rack is the problem, I've changed everything else!) Plus I like the idea of it being variable.
I assume with the engine out the rack is easy to remove from the engine bay? The engine will be coming out anyway...
Some nice pics there Andy :)
I wont bother putting mine up as most were blurry, they were only phone pics and looked ok on the phone, until I put them on the laptop :o
Great pics Phil, liking the panoramic ones ;)
Some of them would look even better if the crappy houses behind were cropped out lol! I would do it but not got Photoshop installed at the moment.
I had a little end go on my engine, it sounded very similar, although mine was doing about 4k at the time. Need to get the head off to confirm though.
as above, eliminate the aux stuff before pulling the engine, but I doubt they would make that noise tbh!
Just fitted another column from a 172, and it seems to have done the trick in curing my problem :)
Weird thing is, the old one didn't seem to have any play when I looked at it after removal...it must have only shown when it was under load.
anyway, no more slop now, just need to do...
R1R's, cheap (relatively), very good grip in the dry, also good grip in the wet, good wear considering the grip they give, stiff sidewalls so don't roll over and give good direct steering :)
The stock autos are known to good for up to 600bhp before things start giving up, 6 speed manuals are strong boxes though :) but also carry a big price tag if you find one for sale separately!
UK spec 6-speed Twin Turbos are big bucks (for a 90's Toyota) now days, Jap 5 speeds not so much, and Auto's less still!
As far as Auto box's go, they're pretty good in that respect, especially for "back in the 90's" car ;)
I've got Koni Yellows now, albeit with Sportlines and very happy with them. Obviously you have more adjustability than with Cup shocks but it all depends on whether you will actually play around with the settings to suit your style, on and off track.
Decent coilovers are going to cost big...
