If its like my valver then for drivers side you don't have the drain the oil, you can buy boot kits which are pretty cheap circa £10 isn't difficult depending on the tools you have, you might have to take the shaft to a garage to get the boot on properly/clips tightened.
PS No way anyone would do one on a renault for £30 less its mates-rates.
Which side is gone? I know on the passenger side to do the outer you have to take the shaft out which means draining the gearbox oil then take the inner boot off so you can slide the outer one on.
Well you have to at least swing the hub out the way to do the gaitor no way you can do it on the car, can be botched with superglue if its only a small hole sometimes you have to take the shaft off to do it...
29K
Only use Renault filters, 5w40 fully synth oil and avoid magnatec, probably don't have to touch the leads but NGK plugs are fine, not too sure on engine flush, some people think it does more harm than good but if anything id only use Forte engine stuff. Again gear oil probably doesnt...
^^ To be fair, if you're serious about the car then it might be worth actually jacking it and taking the wheels off to check... if there isn't a problem then the seller shouldn't mind?
Hmm well the brakes on an RT have never been good, could try performance pads? Don't bother with the K-Tec upgrade just source some brakes from a williams/16v will be much cheaper! You'll need discs/pads/carriers/calipers think thats it...
Best bet would be to source one 2nd hand renault would probably charge a fortune might be worth checking anyway...
Im sure if you clean it up you can botch a repair with some tape or something in the mean time though?
^^ I did it yesterday using the bolt/nut/socket combination and might be doing one on a 106 gti, so was just wondering whether it was worth getting one?
Been doing the torsion bar on the clio and seen a lot of mention of using a slide hammer to remove it? Was looking at some on ebay and im guessing they're used for dent removal as well?
How do they work?
Just lowered the valver at the back but mate asking if I could have a look at lowering his 106gti at the rear, I've just had a quick browse through a few sites and it looks a bit more complicated than the valver :(
Anyone done one before, how hard is it? Any guides anywhere? There is one on...
