I'd take the Ferarri round - once - but personally I wouldn't be able to drive it properly, for fear of having a big accident, because you can't get trackday insurance for it - from what I've seen, if the car is worth more than £25k you can't get cover (in fact there was a ferarri on one of the...
Take it on a trackday, if you haven't done so already - if you can afford to run a ferrari, you could afford to buy a new 182 if you bin it(!) - and the little things you might dislike will suddenly become insignificant!
steering wheel, seating position and cold engine idle for me - lumpy and unsatisfying to drive when cold.
Steering wheel could be replaced but I like my cruise control, new seats would make a world of difference though, and when the engine's warmed up I find much less to complain about!
Basically, 182 Cup was cheaper to buy new but poverty spec, rear bench seat, a/c rather than climate control etc etc. 182 with cup packs (which looks like yours is) has climate control, split rear seat etc, but also has the cup suspension pack, rear spoiler and front splitter (which has been...
I'm probably going to be told I'm wrong with this, but I've got xenons on mine and the main lights don't quite look that. Is the car you are looking at a 182 Cup, or a 182 with cup packs? See this link below, which Justin posted up a few days ago - and it was pointed out the lights looked wrong...
I'm not sure why you'd bother to be honest with a 1.2, although I note the link is not to the DS2500 and so I can't really comment. Seems a waste of money to me though, your pads are barely bedded in and they should be good for a long while yet.
Are you really going to be going fast enough to...
I wouldn't put you off it, but I think the lights look wrong... Not sure on the mileage but the price looks ok to me. Used car values have increased in the past few months, some of the member's cars for sale on here are cheap IMO.
What you say re the valuation of your car is technically...
Looks right. Bargain at £1900 as others have said, perfect track toy. I'd bite the seller's hand off, take it to Mark Fish for a once over and even if it costs a grand or whatever to get the shocks right etc, still a bargain.
Bug number 6 happened to me - particulary annoying as I'd just signed the player (Z Toure, from some little french team!), he played one game and then the next thing that happens is a couple of rumours show up in my inbox saying make sure he's on a long term deal etc etc, but checking my squad...
I had Mark Fish bed mine in for me when he fitted them, but he probably only did about 10 heavier braking runs, from 60mph to 20 mph. However, he also did quite a lot of light-ish pressure left foot braking while traveling at around 40. Took about 15/20 mins in total.
I don't know if you...
I have this setup. Terrific stopping power on track and still fine for the road - mine don't squeal or anything like that and the dust is no worse than OE ones, IMO. If you track the car, pads will last 3 or 4 trackdays before needing replacing. Discs should be good for 2 sets of pads. Braided...
JMS are cheap (decent though) - Renault Hatfield quoted me well over £700 when I spoke to them a little while ago for the full cambelt + aux belt service. Mark Fish was about £600 with genuine parts, mine is due early next year and I'm going to use him.
It's every 72K or 5 years for the...
Seems pretty decent to me, to be honest. Main thing is that you are happy with the deal.
MPG? I get about 34 mpg normally (mostly driving on a roads/motorways) but have got down to 12 mpg before! It depends how and where you drive it.
No worries mate.
One other thing to think about though is who you would actually use to do the service - although Rentech are presumably reasonably local to you. Also, depending on who you do use, not having full renault service history may affect the value of the car when you come to sell it.
Check the wording of the warranty, but I believe that under current legislation the dealer is not allowed to void a warranty if you use an independent to service the car, if they use genuine parts. That's what my dealer told me anyway - some of them are decent and you could just ring your local...
I would also ask why - but FYI, Evo have the top speed of the 1*2s at 138-140, depending on the model.
Personally, I'm with Roy and I'd rather have a shorter ratio gearbox - I find I'm on the limiter in 4th at end of Revetts (Snetterton) at an indicated 110ish, but without enough time to...
oh yes. It's the looking for the little gems through all the dross and incredibly bad/illiterate (spelling?!) adverts. Honestly, I don't know how some people actually expect to sell the vehicle they put up there!
£30,000?!
There's some decent looking porches on pistonheads at the mo. Or an ex race mantis if that takes your fancy? Do you want it to be road legal, or trackday only?

got to say mate, I disagree with the two points I've highlighted:
1. I don't know how old you are, but I'm 27 and a pretty sensible driver and let me tell you, once on the track all thoughts of pottering around go out the window - if the tyres aren't squealing you're not trying hard enough...
I think track insurance is a no brainer if you're driving your everyday car - getting the separate policy through moris or competition car anyway. As far as I know, it covers you if you get hit by someone else. It's only £40 or so after all, and you can pay a bit more to insure the "excess" too...
Great pics Dan. Thought I'd missed them! I forgot about that volvo - it didn't seem to be out that much but when it was, it was seriously fast.
I'd definitely be up for another day at snetterton next year - I'm doing bedford (gt circuit) in late november, and that's the last one for 2009...
Labout charge is £57 per hour. Not sure on the parts front, give him a ring on 01279 431 628 is my best suggestion. He'll hopefully be doing mine when its due next april, providing he isn't too busy!
