mark fish does a one way valve modification. takes about 10 minutes. believe renault also offer it too now. I've had it done, sorted mine out after I lost about 20l this winter!
There's quite a few threads about this on here.
Get your tracking checked, PE2s last forever (unless you track the car!) I got over 25k of a set that were swapped from front to rear at about 20k or so.
I had something like this happen, just after changing the ball joints. It was solved by:
(i) lots of grease into the front anti roll bar bushes
(ii) grease on the suspension platforms
(iii) grease on the steering column
If it comes back, the first thing I will do is change the anti roll bar...
Rather than start a new thread, I'd also be grateful if any dealers on here could give me a quote on a 200, in the following spec:
Clio 200
Black
Recaros
Cup suspension pack
Black speedlines
Cornering lights
(uber chavy) Cup spoiler
Looking to order in next 2/3 weeks. Richard, I have pm'd...
ferodo ds2500s on front. OE or pattern pads on back, the back brakes do eff all on these cars.
back brakes look more tricky to change than fronts. I've not changed them myself though, I get it done at each service! if you get ferodos, you need to file a bit of it down, otherwise they squeal...
I also test drove a 200 with cup package last weekend. As said in other threads, I thought it was a massive step on from the 182, although I agree with your remark about the lack of immediate pick up.
Anyway, subject to the dealer offering me the deal I want, I'll be ordering a 200 in June, in...
Yes. I stuck 5k in last year, in dribs and drabs.
I use a barclays share isa, any capital gains and dividends are tax free. You can now put up to 10k per year in it, more than enough for most people. Allows you to buy shares listed on the LSE main markets but not AIM. I only make occassional...
I tested a 200 on saturday - these are my thoughts (copied from another thread):
"Tested a 200 at the weekend. Really didn't want to like it but... Compared to my 182 it is, honest to god, about 1000% better. Much better build quality, almost german in feel. Useable rear seats, unlike the 182...
A question - why can you not use the 200 on track if you finance it? you can get trackday insurance to cover damage to it, and otherwise how is the finance co going to know and why are they going to care? I ask as I am contemplating a similar change shortly, but would want to track the 200!
If it were my 30k (no chance) i'd buy something practical for 5k ish, something silly (a z4m) for 20kish and still have 5 k change.
having said that and if you must have a new car, I test drove the 200 at the weekend. It's a huge advance on the 182 and I absolutely loved it. If you want...

r888s provide awsome grip wet or dry (except for standing water where you will crash and die) and if you are looking to go faster for each lap on track, these are what you want. From reading your other thread though, it doesn't sound that way, if you like the slide the car / "drive like a...
I've got one booked for tomorrow and my local dealer has agreed to match the lookers offer. It is only the cup spec version to which the offer applies(I think), but I am sorely tempted, test drive dependant. Just hoping it doesn't p1ss all over the 182 and therefore gives me a reason not to do...
Maybe that's the problem I can't heal and toe without giving it some serious thought, which I can't do at track speeds. Equally, I don't ride the clutch like warren's brother did at Bedford!
For what it's worth, I was chatting to Mark Fish about running slicks when I had my last service and he...
It would be the clutch I'd be more worried about though. Surely the racers run uprated ones? For example, I've never liked the way mine feels at the end of a track day when I've been running r888s, almost like its slipping - whereas I don't get the same issues running standard PE2s (although...
That is very good for the clio 200, given what I use my 182 for I think I'll have a test drive and see how the 2 compare as I could go with a trade in. Insurance is no difference as well!
I got mine a couple of weeks ago from gamestation, £200 for an elite + a choice of 2 games from 12 (all recent ones) - I went for bioshock 2 (which I really like) and just cause 2 (which I can't get into at all)
Mine is 3.5 years old. It's sat in a box at home. Shame you don't live nearer, you could come and pick it up off me for £20 - comes with a 20GB hard disk, the leads and I'd give you the 120GB one that caused all the problems if you thought you could do something with it! No control pad though.
I had the RROD a couple of weeks ago, 6 months out of the warranty period. Grrr. Remember that the RROD warranty was extended by MS to 3 years though...
Anyway, I bought a new elite. As long as you are logged in to Xbox live with your gamertag it will show all of your achievements. If the hard...
Vibration or wobble? if its a vibration and you've swapped your wheels over, I'd put money on one, or both, of the ones which are now on the front not being balanced. Go to a tyre shop in the morning and they'll sort the problem - and it won't cost much more than a tenner!
With the headlight washers, it is a common fault that they weep water even when not used. Mark Fish does a modification to the feed pipes by inserting one way valves. Definitely worthwhile having done!
I wouldn't have a problem with doing that if the contract permitted it. Would have to read the terms carefully though before signing - and check if you had to pay the finance company a big fee to do so.
Personally, I've never bought a new car and I don't intend to do so, unless I win the...
It's a little bit different with a house though, you hope that it is an appreciating asset and you get some money out at the end of the mortgage term. You also have somewhere to live!
Whereas, a new car is a depreciating asset. As soon as you drive it off the forecourt, you lose 17.5%! As you...
MJ - Not saying it isn't, if you have to buy something on finance you can't afford it. I think the APR is less than on credit cards though. the main point is that they won't give you a 20k credit limit - well unless you earn well over 150k per year anyway!
