Isn't it £500 for a year? Just phone up Renault UK and say your not happy with the car and that you feel you shouldn't have to pay for this or they can at least contribute to the costs.

Well if it had it done last year, it shouldn't be the cambelt. Did you manage to see where the oil came from?

How old is the car and has it had a cambelt changed?

5 years of 72k, so for your car 142k or 3.5 years time.

They'll probably have a refurbed one lying around somewhere.

I really do like my Clio and I have had it for 2.5 years now, great pace for the money. But I have spent alot on it keeping it running since it came out of warranty, gearbox, suspension, mounts etc. There's not many cars under £10k I would swap a 1*2 for.

Just do what I did, wait untill your 21, as they are group 16 for a reason. IMO I wouldn't pay even a £100 a month on insurance, 1*2's aren't worth it.

New engines will use a bit of oil. If I was him I would get an oil change done and keep an eye on it. He's got warranty, so I wouldn't worry.
