It's obviously a cheaper solution! In the end a throttle body works pretty much in the same way. I'm not sure if it can stand up to the exhaust temperature...
The problems with valves is that they broke down easily, especially with bad wheater or close to the sea.
Even if you go with the Pierburg ones, that are made in Germany and not in Taiwan or Chine like the ones you find on many aftermarket exhaustm, they'll still break down some day.
You could...
Mine was fitted with a sports cat and the 182 manifold but it was too loud, so I didn't take any videos because they wouldn't be representative of the sound of the catback by itself. You will have to wait for Kam Racing to post their videos.
I have another guy here in Italy who had it fitted...
Full exhaust + remap will get you MAYBE 10 hp, and it won't be cheap...with a carbon intake you can probably reach 210 real hp.
With cams, head close to 220. Over that we're talking about racing engine and A LOT of cash.
Just keep it like it is, or replace it with a turbo car.
It's not called choke but it's true that the ECU constantly changes the air-fuel ratio, so it's sort of a choke function to protect the engine when cold!
Same here. Also, the onboard computer show a very worse MPG in those first few minutes.
Keep a constant throttle in those conditions and after a while the car will suddenly starts accelerating.
Hatyy me l'ero persa questa! (I missed that!)
I don't really know a good rebuilder here in Italy but I'll see around. I'll need it too someday, 2nd and 5th gear syncro are not in good shape.
Not at all, you just need a "real" stealth exhaust.
This is mine:
As you can see, there's no clearance problem. My car is on Eibach Sportline, but even if it was 30 mm lower it would be ok.
A 182 backbox won't fit because of the spare wheel. You could go for a recessed exit or a 182 style endpipe kit. It's true that the stealth exit has more resonance than a straight exit, especially with the k-tec that's not very well hidden and closer to the ground than other systems.
Why did you...
I don't think there will be much difference between systems with the same pipe size, k-tec, yozza and Supersprint are all 2"5...not sure about BTB.
The difference I think is in the quality, the sound and the weight.
K-tec it's not really a stealth as you can see it...it's very loud with a decat...
You will need a brake dyno, possibile a MAHA or similar, the oem catback and the catback exhausts of your choice...I think you should include:
Supersprint 63mm system road (stealth) version
Yozza (which one is the quietest?)
BTB (same)
K-tec (2"5 stainless with centre box)
This would be the only...
Sadly I haven't got an OEM exhaust, I could have tested the car on the MAHA dyno at work. I will do it anyway but there's no way to see what's the gain.
As I replaced the old k-tec with the Supersprint I helped co-design with Kam Racing, I can tell you that the k-tec is clearly visibile from behind, even in black superstealth version.
I'm currently running the Supersprint 63 mm centre and rear exhaust, with a 182 manifold and a sports cat, but I...
I tried to stiff them up at the rear, the car gets more precise but it becomes too stiff and uncomfortable, I'll go back to half the way stiff. It should be good on track though!
The clio doesn't "pop n bang" much, the engine is not tuned for that (ignition timing, cams etc)...
I'm fitting the 172 Supersprint this Saturday morning or next week too, so you'll have a few videos from me too.
I'm very curious about the sound and I'll probably put the car on our MAHA dyno...
Sadly I don't have one and I haven't a car scheduled for fitting the system soon.
I guess the sound is similar to the 172 with the supersprint exhaust, but there will be differencies due to t
I can tell you is pretty quiet with the centre silenced section as it's homologated and it's close to...
