I've got a buzzing/rumbling wheel bearing at the rear of my 172 Cup. Bought genuine discs with bearings pressed in and want to change this weekend, do I need to fit new hub nuts when re-assembling or can I use the old ones?
Cheers All,
Ben
Driving toward Thetford yesterday on A11 through Elveden Forest, a mk2 ph1 172 in silver came past heading toward Newmarket/Cambridge.
Dark wheels, decals on the rear quarters and very, very low.
Anyone on here?
Used my Clio this morning to commute from Norwich>Cambridge (interesting with the ice!). Using CD player more or less all of the way. When I got to Cambridge (around 1hour 15mins of 50-60mph A road cruising) there was a beep (heard this before with a corrupted CD) and the CD stopped playing...
I get 40+ in my 172. If you live in the sticks (as I do) it's quite easy to achieve - no traffic lights, few junctions, not much traffic, constant 40-60mph speed ;)
Complete kit looks good, but the 'tested for 300 miles' wording worries me a little bit. Doesn't seem a lot in the scheme of things, particularly if you are parting with £6k for the conversion.
I picked up my new ph2 172 on Monday and have a problem. When I am sat waiting in traffic ect (stopped) the car seems to vibrate, steering wheel and car seems to shudder a bit. It doesn't happen constantly but like every few seconds. And if I move the steering wheel when stopped it does it...
You can pick up a third party warranty policy from someone like Warranty Direct or Warranty Wise(?). I did this for my first 12 months of Cup ownage and the policy paid for itself when snapped a front spring.
Yes lol :)
You can lock it by leaning in the passenger door, hitting the central locking button and then locking the passenger door on the key. That should secure it for you.

Check the engine bay for leaks with the engine running, look under the car etc. If you truly believe you are seeing steam from your engine bay it could be hot coolant hitting the road whilst you are stationary.
