197 6sp gearbox retro-fit

Anyone retro-fitted the 197 6-speed gearbox to a mk2 (or even mk1) Clio with either the F7P/R or F4R engines?

If your a crack dealer and can afford it maybe but for most people there not required especially if its only a trackday car.

Thought so. presume it's back and forward changes on the stick too. would be nice and for rally it's one less thing to think about. if I had deeeeep pockets it would be on my list. just for the hell of it.lol

yeah because u save loads of time quick shifting slowing down...

The point is not runing the gearbox.

In the Clio cup cars, we use the clutch on the downshift but not the upshift.

no worries, i was told by one of the teams (cant remember who) but apparenty Tom Onslow Cole spent 23k on gearbox's in 1 season because he didnt use the clutch on the downshift!
