Right, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gIW_fgPQa9Q ignore the fact this is a zaust vid ( what other clio vids are likely to be on youtube) listen hard after startup and there is a sooperdooper high pitched noise which follows the rpm of the engine. this is what i want to know, and what it means...
Ermm, its Nout to do with exhaust, the whistle is the concern. From what I gather the noise eminates from the inlet side of things, and it isn't there on mine..
ive noticed on pretty much every clio except mine:
there is a high pitched pssshhhwwwwwww which follows the revs when revving under no load.
my 182 doesnt do this, and i would like it too cause its a cool noise HAHA!
What probable cause could be stopping it?
Just to clarify...
what is an average 60-90 mph time in real life for a 182? if you can remember what it roughly should be on a flat could you please post
i know im imagining it, but my car feels slow *cough* on track . if my time is comparable to others then i know im being a silly bugger.
thanks.
subliminal message lol, i know ive been meaning to become a member its only pence at the end of the day. funnily enough my car has the cs.net tax disk holder so a previous owner must have been member ! will do membership in a min :)
hmmm decisions, maybe just do the wishbone bushes in poly as i have allready bought them ones and keep the rest normal...
i feel a date coming on with me and a tig set at work :)
have you ruled out a rolling ball joint? they can creak when they are sat in gods waiting room ready to give it up. find a junction that goes up hill and drive up it both ways. they play about with no load so right turn = right joint and left = left joint.
jack car with more than just a tyre...
music to my ears, the way i see it, if something is to be changed then it might as well be changed for something better if the price is similar. what about the wishbone bushes? worth pressing polys in them before fitting?
i agree, i cant really afford new shocks atm but i will keep in mind now :) and the tyres are good, 4mm of exalto on the back and new ps3's on the front.
whats your opinion on poly bushing? is it worthwhile doing or just stick to standard?
as of late the 182 is handling like a warm brie with tomatoes for wheels, steering and turn in feels..... flacid!
i think the dampers are okay, they still feel firm on compressions and there they dont make the car do the riverdance in corners.
so:
new wishbones (heard something about needing...
looked at my cat which is sagging like a whales vagina, and then dreamed of buying a janspeed catback. bought some poly bushes as a poor mans attempt to crisp up the steering
did the plugs today, powered up and engine sounded like it was missing on one cylinder.
turned off and on and all was well, plugged in my ghetto bluetooth elm327 and it threw up p0301 missing on cyl 1, tried clearing but is still there allthough car runs fine on all spectrums.
could it be that...
hello guys, hope all is well.
basically im having a small issue with mind numbing and possibly consiquential noises.
1st off, under moderate acceleration there is an intermittent flapping that i could best describe as quickly tapping the trigger on a compressed air blower. sounds like its...
A buddy of mine works at a composites shop and he said he can lay up a carbon fibre pattern of a espace airbox. Good airbox with classic carbon fibre hearty noise. Worth the hassle?
considering getting the dephaser done at the time, considering the labour incurred is mostly covered by removal of belts. im on 58 k with nothing in history about new vvt pulley? preventative maintenence justified, or does it have lots of life left?
hello,
i live on the isle of wight and as such, im limited to a renault main dealer and many indies....
does anybody know of a garage on the island capable of resealing the rocker cover and putting the belt back properly? or is it looking like a 40 quid ferry, a trip to rentech and shopping...
