I agree with you, it`s not hugely different from the standard car but you do get a lot of kit for a very atractive price.
I had it confirmed by the dealer though, this is a switzerland only special and there will be 50 examples built.
It`s the ordinary non-cup spoiler, not sure what it`s called.
Yeah, I`m completely over-excited about it, keep running to the window to make sure it`s still there!
I`m not a huge fan of the badge on the back either, might take it off.
In daylight it doesn`t look yellow at all, the paint just shimmers a little to accentuate the curves and bulges of the bodywork; subtle but effective.
Anyway, enough about the paint. The most surprising thing about the car...
yeah it all depends on the dealer I guess.
I would recommend you just find a different dealer in switzerland for servicing etc. It's important to have a good relationship with them.
I think it depends on the dealer. Renault in Glattbrugg managed to give me 12% off the price of a new Clio RS (down from 36000 to 32000). In the end I got the B&W instead, but even that was on offer - from 36500 down to 33000.
I think Glattbrugg is an exception though, because most of the...
Nah to be fair, the 200 is plenty good enough in standard trim. You could argue that spending ££££s on extras is foolish when the standard car is so good.
Need's a clean though mate, and maybe think about getting the alloys painted anthracite or black?
Enjoying it so far?
I'm not sure you will be able to see the pearl effect in a photo, maybe if it's a really sunny day. In real life it gives the paint real depth, like the LY but with some added colour differentiation.
Gorms' car looks awesome for sure, the B&W is the same but with a spoiler and a black roof...
Yeah I've seen the thing and you can tell by the way the light catches it that it's Pearl White Met.
Also they have printed a special brochure to mark the special edition and the full specification including the paint work is clearly stated in there.
I will collect it on friday so will get...
Yeah it's always annoying when they bring out a special model right after you have ordered yours. To be fair though, you still have a very nice example - did they sort out all your issues now?
Not sure I understand your reasoning there mate - if it was a colour test why would they need to respray them?
I get the impression they planned to run this special edition for a while because they've been advertised on some of the Swiss autotrader sites for quite a few months now.
If I hadn't switched the order I probably would have had to wait another week to collect it, why?
Maybe it's a swiss-only special, I'll try to find out some more about it and let you know if it might be coming your way!
The Pearl White paint and black roof are available as options in the UK...
12600 francs is about £7.5k, which sounds like more than you would pay in the UK, but that's mainly because of the crazy exchange rates at the moment.
They were 30000 francs new in 2005 and mine had about 60k miles on the clock and two seasons of moderate track use. It is in very good...
Yeah I'll definitely do a full write up Vs the Trophy, (which will open up a large can of worms, whatever the outcome!)
Sold my Trophy last week for 12600 swiss francs. Sad to see it go, but I'm really looking forward to having a brand new car again, with all the luxuries that come with it.
Exchange rate is about 1.67 at the moment so yeah, quite a saving.
I'll get some photos up on Friday when I go collect it.
Black roof looks pretty awesome, and the Pearl white paint really brings out the wider arches.
Anyone heard of these? They have just been launched in Switzerland and I'm interested to hear if they are also available in other markets.
It's basically a fully loaded Clio 200 at a fraction of the cost:
-Recaros
-Cup Pack
-Black Speedlines
-Pearl White ID Paint
-Black Roof
-Rear Spoiler...
Question: Is the cup chassis on the Clio 200 lower than the standard chassis?
I remember reading it somewhere but now can't find it again.
Any other way to check if a car has a cup chassis, OTHER THAN THE RED BRAKES?
yeah it's a great track for the clio because it's not too fast and pretty twisty.
you don't need a second set of rims and semi slicks to have fun though, just use your standard wheels and tyres, ok they will wear out pretty quick, but it's still cheaper and easier than having a second set...
Well you pay €2300 per year and you get to use the track tuesday to saturday from 1700 until 1930 from April 1st until November 30th. Also, when the track isn't being used for other events you can also use it during the day.
It seems like a lot of money but if you go twice a month (which is...
I hear that Renault had patented their version of the RevoKnuckle but that Ford managed to find a way around their patents.
I think what annoyed Renault was that they came up with the concept but failed to get and real marketing mileage out of it whereas Ford came onto the scene, basically...
Absolutely, you're right, that's very catchy. Much better than the title I came up with.
You told me all about the importance of the driver on the track AND taught me how to make a nice title for my posts.
Again, I really can't thank you enough.
