i'd say the difference would be within the operating limits of the managment system, although personally i would do this sort of mod in conjunction with other mods e.g. headwork and cams, in which case you would need a remap.

my business, Advanced Powertrain Developments is based...
if u lost 10kg, you would have 173.7bhp/ton...assuming ur car weighs 1000kg as standard
to do it...
1000 (assumed mass) / 990 (new mass) * 172 (engine power)
lol
midge...go to Chipwizards mate, he's taking bookings for the next couple of weeks apparently...
its the best solution to what you need, i'll even come with you after ive fitted the engine, and we can meet up with 2live!!
to get decent power, the usual principles stand:
Extensive head-work, inc larger valves and modified chamber
Some hi-spec cams
Forged pistons to give a decent Cr
H-section rods (so u can scream the nuts off it!)
Blue-printed bottom end (inc dynamic balancing and flywheel lightening)...
Im from way up north (Carlisle), but moved to Swansea 4 years ago to do my degree....missus is from round here, so decided to set-up-shop here for the next year, then move back up home (avec her) when business is on its feet
yuo, a rolling road measures power at the wheels...thats it. even that figure isnt 100% accurate due to many variables in the exercise. flywheel power figure can be guestimated by reducing the figure from the wheels (usually) by 15-20%. this again isnt accurate as transmissions vary, as do the...
mine easily screams to 8.5k on 280'degs, and standard rods (forged pistons, full balance etc etc).
im sure it will still be making power past this aswell (not mapped yet) however ive got some H section rods on order...just to be sure!
i can supply H section rods at a very good price...
depends on lift as to whether u can retain stock springs etc
theres no point going stupid with cams unless you have decent headwork and other modifications
how many miles has it done? what condition is it in?
you have to consider that its likely to be a minimum of 10 years old
roughly 150bhp, maybe a tad more, maybe a tad less.
*edit* having said that a remap will help things along.....
u sure they are timed correctly edde? mine are 285 deg and they come on at about 4 all the way through to 8 where the limiter is. once its mapped the limiter will be raised...esp after ive fitted the H section rods
both are generic "terms" for modifying the ports to improve gas-flow. polishing is often mistakenly used, as there is little polishing....the major work is the re-shaping of the ports. polishing is the final exercise on the exhaust ports and chamber...it contributes very little to the overall...
