    Inlet manifold - South Wales

i'd say the difference would be within the operating limits of the managment system, although personally i would do this sort of mod in conjunction with other mods e.g. headwork and cams, in which case you would need a remap. osbid172: my business, Advanced Powertrain Developments is based...

wieght loss to gain 1bhp per ton on willy

if u lost 10kg, you would have 173.7bhp/ton...assuming ur car weighs 1000kg as standard to do it... 1000 (assumed mass) / 990 (new mass) * 172 (engine power)

Bike throttle bodies on a 172?

there is no problem... typically this sort of work is DIY, "development" costs/labour would be extertionate if u took it to a company

    1.6 16v

to get decent power, the usual principles stand: Extensive head-work, inc larger valves and modified chamber Some hi-spec cams Forged pistons to give a decent Cr H-section rods (so u can scream the nuts off it!) Blue-printed bottom end (inc dynamic balancing and flywheel lightening)...

    New head

Im from way up north (Carlisle), but moved to Swansea 4 years ago to do my degree....missus is from round here, so decided to set-up-shop here for the next year, then move back up home (avec her) when business is on its feet

    ATW figures explain

That only applies to torque (gear ratio's), and eddie current dyno's measure power direct, so power will be un-affected
  12. S

    ATW figures explain

of course it wont, but who quotes un-corrected figures? people always want the highest power figure whetehr its realistic or not....

    New head

yep thats the place..... only engineering place in swansea i trust

lol damn f**king right, i aint no grease monkey :) !!! anyway... give Huxtables a call on 01792812165 ask for Charles

    ATW figures explain

yep, or icreasing tyre pressure, or fudging ambient correction, etc etc
  16. S

    ATW figures explain

coast-down method is as inaccurate as multiplying by 0.85-0.8.
  17. S

    ATW figures explain

yuo, a rolling road measures power at the wheels...thats it. even that figure isnt 100% accurate due to many variables in the exercise. flywheel power figure can be guestimated by reducing the figure from the wheels (usually) by 15-20%. this again isnt accurate as transmissions vary, as do the...

    Revs the limit ????

mine easily screams to 8.5k on 280'degs, and standard rods (forged pistons, full balance etc etc). im sure it will still be making power past this aswell (not mapped yet) however ive got some H section rods on order...just to be sure! i can supply H section rods at a very good price...

    Schrick cams

depends on lift as to whether u can retain stock springs etc theres no point going stupid with cams unless you have decent headwork and other modifications

Gas Flowing or Port and Polish??

aye theres plenty of s**t work/workmanship out there.....
  23. S

you got a hybrid? what mods? what power?

i didnt see remap the first time...this will help you to see a bit more yes, it is apparently a good engine
  24. S

you got a hybrid? what mods? what power?

how many miles has it done? what condition is it in? you have to consider that its likely to be a minimum of 10 years old roughly 150bhp, maybe a tad more, maybe a tad less. *edit* having said that a remap will help things along.....
  25. S

you got a hybrid? what mods? what power?

probably roughly standard, unless you modify internally
  26. S

Gas Flowing or Port and Polish??

i always polish....no harm in it. but yes, its typically un-necessary
  27. S

    1.8 16v, willams conversion

depends wot the problem is. engine could be f**ked for all he/you know if u dont buy it, let me know as i will
  28. S

you got a hybrid? what mods? what power?

u sure they are timed correctly edde? mine are 285 deg and they come on at about 4 all the way through to 8 where the limiter is. once its mapped the limiter will be raised...esp after ive fitted the H section rods
  29. S

Gas Flowing or Port and Polish??

both are generic "terms" for modifying the ports to improve gas-flow. polishing is often mistakenly used, as there is little polishing....the major work is the re-shaping of the ports. polishing is the final exercise on the exhaust ports and chamber...it contributes very little to the overall...
