ARP bolts arent really going to be of any real benefit. increased torque comes from increased cylinder pressure. the increased compressive stress on the piston, and therefore rods, is not transmitted through the cap bolts. increased engine speed however is a different story, where as the piston...
theory is to increase thermal efficiency. any gas speed increase due to density change would be minimal due to relative high pressures of exiting gases. only really worth it on turbocharged engines.
Theres quite a few manufacturers of after-market and bespoke pistons, tho many arent that nice...crap materials/finnishing and tolerancing. They are generally made by "drop-forging" and are known as forged pistons. They can have a variety of crown designs which can increase or decrease Cr...
sure its not CV grease from the o/s driveshaft?
if its defo engine oil i would say either rocker cover, dizzy seal, or the plate on the front right of the head that covers the oil galleries.
yup...
The difference between doing it and doing it properly is understanding "what and why" you are doing it....
as someone mentioned earlier...its understanding the science/physics behind combustion that makes the difference. how can you improve something if you dont fully understand how...
cheers mate...
all my rates are VERY competetive anyway, but willing to cut people individual deals/discounts on larger jobs. but even on smaller work
e.g. modified 172/182 inlet service £130 on exchange/as supplied or £180 drive-in/drive-out.
witht hat type of blower your best bet for the charge-cooling is to integrate a cooling matrices into the inlet manifold. easier said then done...would be costly. unless u adapt a jag V8 item for e.g. as for the drive, cant u integrate the blower pulley into the aux drive belt, rather than hving...
best off just doing it from scratch mate. a guide (if you find one for your particular car) is going to be just one persons interpretation of how it should be done...and likely it wont be the best!
As some of you already know, i started officially trading in engine building/performance tuning a couple of months ago. For those who dont know, my business is called: Advanced Powertrain Developments....alla the title!
After years tinkering with engines, gathering various related...
As has been said already...it totally depends on the person carrying out the install and the mapping, as to the quality and use-ability/performance of the finnished product.
My T.B'd F7R returns nearly 40mpg on a run, cruising between 75-80mph in fifth. Even driving round town its not really...
you dont loose torque with a lightened flywheel.
there may be a reduction in mass moment of inertia which would be seen as a loss of "surge" when driving up a hill, or during engine braking but this is in no way detrimental to performance.
my stock fly is lightened as much as physically...
i think one thread would have sufficed!!
RE: the PAS system...if u are "a total ignorant in regards to cars" then this sint somethin gu shouldattempt urself. not being harsh, just realistic. i suggest you take it to your local dealer, with a list of ALL the above problems, and get the to sort...
