Depends on your DNS Server config and if you're using DHCP etc.
Just add a standard A record in your local zone pointing to it's IP (providing it's a static IP).
Kind of.
I sold mine within a year for less than half I paid for it, and replaced it with a Dell Latitude D420 - different types of laptop, so not really 100% fair, but for me, the Dell is much better ;)
I'd be looking at the new Thinkpad x300 if money was no object.. but I guess it depends what you want out of a laptop. I love my Dell D420 as it's really small and light.. but then, I don't like massive laptops which can make my breakfast for me.
I wouldn't touch a Vaio - but that's my opinion :p
If it's crashed 8 times in a week, then something is broke like driver incompatability, dodgy RAM, dodgy PSU etc.
Windows doesn't just crash, and when it does, it's always down to a dodgy driver or dodgy hardware.
Please lets not have a discussion on HDMI cables..
It makes NO difference at all, providing you have no artifacts or break ups. If you don't have artifacts on the screen, then replacing the cable will make absolutely no difference.
And, before anyone argues, argue with Science instead.. cus'...
WHS rocks.. loads of decent plugins now, too.
And, it's easy to admin - anyone can do it. I'd get one for home file serving without any hesitation. (and probably am)
If I was going the Linux route, I'd be installing vanilla Debian and going from there :p
*Apparently* max DVD Video is around 10Mb.. :)
Get a HP MediaSmart server running Windows Home server.. load it with 1TB drives, in RAID5 (so if one drive dies, you keep your data), and you'll have around 3TB then.. ;)
They tend to charge £5 a month more for 12 months.. (or at least, they did for me)
I didn't have a stupidly good offer tho.. just standard high street tarrif.
BackupExec has a proper Agent, so that's pretty much the "best way" at the moment..
Of course, it's just SQL.. so you could just backup the database.. although the BackupExec agent backs up at the document level tho as far as I know, which is pretty useful!
If you don't know what they are, then I'm guessing you're using DHCP anyway on your router? You wouldn't have set them manually in the first place?
If that is the case, they should be updating the scope to reflect these new changes.. it sounds like they have, but you're still on the old ones...
Nope, not in this case. (Well it may be, but it's not the main problem at the moment :p)
It's because there isn't the required record in DNS.
*** No address (A) records available for harrisonmurray.co.uk

(If you care, you need an @ A record pointing to the webserver IP, in the...
Depends on what it's doing.. if you load it up with GNOME etc. then you might start struggling.. however, run Fluxbox or even no X at all, then it'll be rapid :)
