paying 1200 on the 172 at the oment even though Im 25, had 6 points (now off liscence) and accident just over 3 years ago. When I renew will have 3 years NCB and dont have to declare accident or points, got a quote for 750 on a vx220 come on!
I would keep the 172, I think its madness swapping a 172 for a 182 (unless you just want a newer car) youll never be as happy in the ibiza diesel as you are in the 172, anyway they arent that unecanomical 35mpg aint bad for a 140MPH car!
I was thinking of getting rid of the 172 (till a house...
Driving position is the worst thing about my 172, can never get comfortable and you always feel like your on the car rather than in it.
Remember having a sit in yozzas cup with buckets, that was far better, like been in a go kart
it will be sponsored by an insurance company or something, they get some silly study done thats guaranteed to be printed in the red tops and of course they have to mention "a study carried out for Direct line" or whatever. Cheap advertising. Furniture company I used to work for did one along the...

Mack - HGVs on A roads are a nightmare - Was following a line of 4 hgvs along the single carriage A road from A14 to peterborough not long ago at 6am. The Hgv in front of me was an absolute psycho, overtook the hgv in front of him, took...

I wouldnt use chips away for bodywork, I took mine for a small chip in the drivers door where keys had caught it, should have ben a nice easy job for them. They touched it up but you can still clearly see where the chip is. He says there was too many layers of paint on the car to be able to make...
172s dont realy have "big" tech issues, its more just little niggly things. Ive had mine for 18 months now and dont really regret buying it, there nothing that will go as fast or handle as well for the money. 2nd hand they are the best car money can buy. If I was gonna buy one I would buy 2nd...
its supposed to sound muted, its meant to be a luxury! Mine sounded like an F-15 just putting the pipercross filter on it, sounds ridiculous now with decat and backbox hehe
I bought my 172 new but I would NEVER buy a new renault or indeed any other car new again, you loose suicidal amounts of money on a new car, let some other muppet buy it new and you buy it off them when they realise they cant afford it/have a baby/buy a house.
However I would totally...
172 speedos are gps proven to be spot on. Just hope that it didnt have film in it.
If it flashed and there film in it you will get a ticket no mistake. My parters dad got one from a speed camera for 33 MPH. There is a LOT of misinformation about speed cameras. I would have thought a 30 camera...

because its a different league of car !!! why would you pay 100k for a ferrari when 30k on an radical gets you a faster car ?
Youd pay 70k for a roof and heater when its pissing it down ;)
Golf GTI with same Spec as a 182 price difference will be more like 10 grand. You cant really compare the two cars as such as they are in completely different classes.
I would say they have made a bit of a mistake in making the GTI FWD as getting 180 BHP down in my 172 is hopeless enough...
all you will get from webcams and cheap cameras is a picture of a blob near your car. If you want evidence quality images you need to install some security lighting and be spending a good £200 on a camera (I do alarms and CCTV for a living)
my 172 is positively scary when the roads greasy, took me by surprise at the start of the rainy season after been able to rag it more or less at will though the summer. Have to be pretty careful when theres leaf mulch on the roads. If its just wet there not too bad but its the leaf mulch that...
mechanic will have driven both cars on a ramp and back off so hardly qualified to jusge but a cup would be quicker round a track. 182 was quicker than a v6mk2 on top gear. In a straight line the v6 would bum rape a cup, but cups are lighter and more agile.
Oh my god another running in topic. THRASH IT ITS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY!!! modern engines DO NOT need to be run in. Manufacturers tell you to run in gently to cover their own arses in case somethings not screwed in properly to limit the resuilting damage. From an engineering point of view...
have you tried driving a LHD car? its alright when you get used to it, unless the cars a daily driver I wouldnt have said its worth the hassle swapping it over
its a load off balls blanking them out on a website, if someone wants your plate they can copy it when they see you in the asda carpark, chances of someone coming on here looking for dodgy plates is seriously remote.
Heres a free one for some armed robbers in hackney to use...
