Re: No Compromise ph1 ITB build (Fastcar, BTM, TDF, RS Fab) - ITB update p77
Cheers! Hmmm maybe I'll get the subframe off and away to be powdercoated at the same time my intake goes on! Would make sense to do it that way! :)
Re: No Compromise ph1 ITB build (Fastcar, BTM, TDF, RS Fab) - ITB update p77
Neil, did it take you long to drop the subframe? I'd like to get mine off to clean it up and have it finished (just boring black, no funky colours I'm afraid)
Going from the progress photo, it seemed to be a fairly...
They came with the kit from jamsport and I'm still on the originals, so I've never had to replace them. I did ask Mark at Jamsport the price of pads when I ordered the wilwoods and I seem to remember them being reasonable.
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
Cheers, Tom.
If the throttle response will be much improved with the new manifold design, then there's no reason for me to look any further at switching to cable. :)
I'm sure the results the RS2 gives will keep me plenty happy anyway!
Mk2 on Ronal Teddy Bears
Re this thread, as been posted already 15 or 16" is a good size for the Clio. 15 if you're planning on going low and fancy the benefit of cheap tyres! :)
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
Really, that's what I was hoping to achieve with it tbh. :D I suppose the mapping can/will further improve response too.
I suppose then, that any increase from the use of a larger Jenvey TB wouldn't be worth the costs involved.
AD08's for £70 a corner! :approve:
Having said that, 15" OZ Ultra's etc would be the same cheap tyres and much lighter. I personally just love the look of the 2118's :)
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
Yeah, they were the ones I was looking at from ACW Motorsport; £53 for rears in lexan or £90 for rears in Marguard Lexan, so both are good value really! They look very good from the photos that have been posted. :)
And thinking of something else for later in...
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
My thinking was that the R26R used perspex rears, maybe they're tinted/matched though...hmmm!!
A set from Earls for the front axle is £41.08. I just need to confirm the connections needed; I believe they were supplied originally with 3/8" UNF 90deg female concave...

I can't find the price list on their website any more, but I remember them being very reasonable!
iirc they are available in fibreglass, carbon or carbon kevlar.
Ah I missed that you'd gone for RS2's, I thought you were going with the Parada's. Thinking about those for next time, although I do really like the Parada's in the dry.
Re: Dave.'s Trumpeted Engine Spec, Cammed Up Gunit, 2118'd Carbon Vagina Boob obsessi
I wonder how many miles Dave will have racked up this afternoon/evening!
Sounds awesome mate! :D
Are you keeping the turinis too? I was going to keep mine so I could swap between them and the 2118's, but shortly after realised I'd never take the 2118's off!
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
I suppose I could still go with the carbon door cards and perspex windows, even with the rear seats in place. Depends whether you look at is as a waste of time with the rear seats still in, or the fact it would still be saving a bit of weight...
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
Strippage, Oreca formed carbon door cards and perspex rear windows would do me nicely; and a lick of satin black paint
Re: Iceberg 172 Cup Project
Getting close to the JMS intake being ready now; cannot wait. If you've not seen in the JMS traders section, the new cast designs from jenvey dynamics have been posted and looks great!
There was also a render posted of a black 2011 spec RS2. I'd asked for mine to...

Bwaaarrrp!!
Good to hear you're happy with the results! How do you like the cable throttle? Much improved over the DBW?
I've seen photos of Matt/TDF's wiring on here before and it's neat as...

That's a bit of a shitter :dapprove: I'm sure it'll be worth it when you get there though!
