Right, Basically, Im after a banging system. I need a hu, amp and sub ect..

Ive looked all over the internet at all in one systems, or separate systems, and i really have no idea what to go for..

All information would be very usefull

I would say don't buy all in one, you've got no choice then.

In my first car I had a 4x50w head unit, new front component speakers and rear 6x9s in the parcel shelf, both just running off head unit, not separately amped. Then I had a 600w sony amp and 1200w pentagon subwoofer in the boot, and all of that was plenty loud enough.

It's going to cost you hundreds of pounds to do properly!

Not intending to hijack but I'm after the same sort of advice and can't see the point creating another thread, advice not particularly on what too buy but what sort of set up to go for, and I'm not after a 'banging' system as such. At home I run a 1000W RMS Amp with 7 surrounds and a sub matched to that power rating. Everything goes into the amp from whatever source and the amp deals with everything. I was going to do the same thing with the car (Considerably less power though) HU as the source and run components and sub through a powered amp. When I've been to look at buying it seems to be the trend as above to run components off the HU then a sub through an amp, can it not be done so that everything is amp driven, otherwise it seems a bit pointless!? Or am I being thick?

Best thing to do is just upgrade the fronts and run them from an amp, then get a sub and run that from either the same amp say a 4 channel and bridge 2 channels for the sub. Or go with a 2 channel and a mono channel.

If you want to run the rear's just leave them on the head unit. Best upgrading the front components first though, amping those then deciding if you want a sub or not.

I was running a 4x50w alpine hu with alpine components upfront. In the rear i just had an MTX thunder 12" carpeted box and an alpine v12 amp. It sounded really nice.
