What model do you have? Ive got a mk2 phase 1, or a phase 2 mk1 (errr its a v6) and I had to remove the top dash section to get to the tweeters, but apparently on the mk2 you can simply remove the grills.

Just because you cant tell where the bass is coming from, doesnt mean it will sound the same wherever the sub is mounted.

Apparently if you fire it towards the rear, the soundwaves have to travel further to reach your ears (because the waves reflect on the rear hatch), and therefore develop a deeper note by the time they arrive there.
But as with all these things, its probably best to experiment.
Can you get away with any speakers that wont require a bit of cutting? I dont know about the mk2, but the mk1s have nice wedge of plastic that needs to go before any decent sized magnet will fit.
Be more fun than the valver though mate ;) Me and ross (182) had a few b road blasts together, and unless there was an unusually long straight, there wouldnt be any difference, both have outstanding grip and strong engines.

I installed a set of components last night, into mk1 v6, so I had remove the top dash section. Once that had been done it was nice and easy, I just mounted the new tweeters under the brackets that the original tweeters sat in, put a spot of glue between the tweeters and the bracket to hold them...
M roadster is a quick car, but dont cars have to go round corners occasionally? I used to drive a Z3 2.8, and I know that the M roadster has beefier anti-roll bars, etc. but the cornering experience isnt hugely different. I span mine on the first day I had it because I didnt leave traction...
Sometimes animals dont use footbridges and zebra crossings though mate.
Having said that, the police will probably use the number of dead pigeons on a certain stretch of road as evidence that a safety camera is needed!
