I like the sound of that! I would swap my interior for a nice dark one given the opportunity.
Can the mk1 172 interior be swapped easily for the mk2? Or are all the fittings, etc. in different locations?
This isnt the same company but the ones halfway down look the same (and cheaper, I think I paid £21)

I had this very same problem Louise, I always look after my cars, but I dont want to wash them every time a bird lets go over it! (and its parked under a tree, so in the summer that is quite often).
Classic Additions covers...
Careful what you say, there are some diesel heads on here too!
Nice car mate, Ive got a lot of time for Focusssss. Quickest cars on the planet, especially when theyre 1.8litre hire cars :D
p.s. dont forget to remind us clio owners how much better the standard stereo is, perhaps there is no...
Id be upset if I got those figures, especially with the induction kit. Fair point about the low mileage, and maybe running in the car over a long period of time isnt ideal. The torque figure is quite a lot down from what Renault quote - do Renault have a clause in the warranty to say it doesnt...
...definitely get a mk2 if (and you can see its a big if) you can stomach the depreciation and greater outlay. But the prices are starting to fall, and if you can pick up a bargin mk2, like some of the guys on this forum have, do it! DO IT! DO IT! (anyone else think that line from Starsky and...
Cold tarmac will never give you as much grip as warm tarmac...same with the tyre temperature. The engine loves the cold air and cold petrol though :devilish:
Hmmm, that rings a bell - I owned one of these, great for posing and the engine was sweet but the handling sucked ass - I span mine on the first day I had it! Owning a Z3 has helped me understand RWD (or how bad it can be) and it means the V6 is as sorted as an Elise in comparison.
Why is it 221bhp with the induction kit? I thought that V6s were 230bhp standard (I know they can come out of the factory slightly under/over, but I didnt think by this much?)....or are you quoting at the flywheel??
*confused*
Thats a lot of car for the money, Id seriously consider one as my next car I think. Did the type-R version improve things dramatically (like the mk1 -> mk2 clio v6)? Theyre much pricier arent they?
The engine note is always quite deep in the V6, but with induction kit (I had a Pipercross but Im about to change to a BMC CDA) the note gets very corse, with much more of the higher frequencies coming through to the cabin. The engine revs to 7000rpm (approx?), without an IK it doesnt pull much...
Apparently the mk2 is much easier to drive at the limit, which is obviously an advantage for the track. There are, however, two suspension kits that are available for mk1 to improve its on-the-limit handling; K-tec sell KW coilovers at about £1300, and Mark Fish sells Leader coilovers at £1600...
The V6 then, because it has more low down torque which doesnt require wringing the cars neck to extract. I havent found that the V6 understeers either, its quite neutral until the back comes to say hello.
Whoa, there are comments that Renault could have given the engine a bit more power to match the agressive looks, but "extremely underpowered" is a bit strong, 175bhp per ton is not exactly bad!

*cant stop now*.... thats 5bhp per ton more...
Id agree with the others in that it depends on the type of road, but even then the V6 will only win by a mile if its a long open A-road. On the twisties I think the cup would beat a mk1 V6, but if both drivers gave it their full-commitment, it would be close.
If you want the car for what it is; a crazy idea, with a brilliant engine note, looks like nothing else, etc. then the V6 is a fun car to own. But the cup will be quicker in most conditions, and cheaper to run (although Im not sure that applies to your friday afternoon one!) and easier to mod...
Ideally he would need the car for at least 1/2 day, so that hes got a good idea what needs to be done. He can make certain parts in advance, such as the silencers, etc. to your specficiation.

^^^^ What David said :D Lots of people on this forum have had a pro-speed exhaust built and weve all been very pleased. Mention this forum and youll no doubt get a good price (and one sweet exhaust).
