    i just bought mikethemans2k clio v6..

How you doing Loopee, small world eh! Im glad you like the car, its always good when it goes to another enthusiast. I had it for about 6 months, and I only changed it because I have a habit of changing cars often (I want to own every car at least once ;)). As mentioned, the car is a lovely...

My current car draws loads more losers that sit on my back bumper than my Clio V6 used to (I dont remember one actually with the clio!)....but I havent had one stay there yet.* (*unless my oil temp is <60 c in which case Im slower than Miss Daisy :p)

    finally got my v6

4.3! What had you done to it? I know Evo timed the Z3M at 4.8, but 4.3!? No Vanos in the V6....you lucky devil!! But I know what you mean, I went the other way mk1 v6 ---> z3m (hairdresser version) and its in another league - will still own* a mk2 v6 one day though, its just such a cool...

    MK1 or MK2 V6

Having had a mk1, Ill get a mk2 next time - just to be different. Both great in their (not so) different ways.

    K&N 57-0426

Dont be blinkered, you know K&Ns make one of the best noises and with a well designed heat-shield, are one of the best IKs around. There can be more than one ;)

clio v6 is this worth it.

I wouldnt - how boring is that colour?! looks like they forgot to put the top coat on. I wonder if there is an undercoat under the undercoat top coat. Ill get my coat. p.s. you can get the TT in a similar finish.

Pro-speed kicks ass! Ive had 3 seperate cars messed with by Charlie, and it just gets better and better :D Latest one... http://www.racingpuma.plus.com/exhaust/exhaust3.jpg http://www.racingpuma.plus.com/exhaust/exhaust4.jpg And since the above was installed, a flurry of M Roadster/Coupe...

megg 225 in the cumbrian hills

Looks very nice. Shame the standard Meganes arent as good, had one for a couple of days last week. Gutless 1.6 with a jerky clutch and even jerkier brakes. Jerk-o-vision!

    Bye Bye Clio V6

Yeah, saw it at Goodwood - looked sweetos!

    Bye Bye Clio V6

Id expect Nissan to create a superb handling mid-engined beast as well - they usually do!

    Yeah bet you will.

    172/182/cup vs Vauxhall Astra VXR

3 seconds quicker to 100 - not insignificant :D (But VXR would almost certainly corner better, if both were stock)

    Racelogic Launch Control

I dont need no gay-boy traction control.... ...but add my name to your list, because I think I might change my mind at the first drop of rain :p

182, Astra GSI, ST220, Vectra GSI

Why are you comparing two practical, top-of-boring-range cars, and a 182?? Are you after a fun hatchback or a practical 4-door? I dont think youd ever be able to sort the suspension nicely on an Astra, theyre just a crap setup. And then youve got the looks

    Top speed

slightly over 155mph in France last week - I say slightly, because you dont exactly stare at the speedo when youre covering ground that quickly (on a public road that is).....oh its even more impressive when you find out that my misses was trying to strangle me for going so quick :devilish...

    What would win folks

Probably almost identical. I used to drag rmccardals 182 (approx. 205bhp at the time) along some good straights in MK, and it was completely even. The V6 has good torque from 3/4krpm upwards, which can make it more level than the bhp/ton figure would suggest.

    New wheel for my V6

    New wheel for my V6

Sorry to disappoint you, but I sold my 18s with the car, and the 17s sold on ebay for £550 with crap tyres on the front, and P-Zeros on the back. They were bought for a spare trackday set (think they were used by someone at the Brands track day actually). If you get them in good condition with...

    V6 gone.....time for something quicker

I think youre right Rob, the Z3 platform is proper retro, tail slides galore! The M Roadster gets a stiffer chassis, an LSD and obviously much more power which just makes it even easier to abuse :devilish: And thanks for the advice, but I decided to take...

    V6 gone.....time for something quicker

Thanks :D Apparently the VANOS was a problem in a small number of the S50-engined cars which they fixed when the S54 (from the E46 M3) was used in 2001 onwards. Most of the M Roadsters are S50 though, so its worth checking.

    V6 gone.....time for something quicker

Cheers mate. I think Ill jinx it and say...what isnt! ;)
  28. miketheman2k

    V6 gone.....time for something quicker

Thats the one, except without the 6-speed box because it wont fit in. Make sure you check carefully for any dodgy VANOS issues before buying, and then get some sort of warranty to cover it afterwards - big problems if it goes wrong.

    V6 gone.....time for something quicker

^^^ Apparently 355bhp is relatively easy to get, but I think most of my mods money will be going on chassis strength first - lol Strut brace should be with me later on this week, a bit of a must for a 7-year old soft top.
