Its been a strange 6 months of ownership, no car has ever caused me so much joy and pain in such a short space of time, but now I have sold the Mk1 V6. One experience I take away with me is knowing how absolutely useless the majority Renault dealers are, and how pathetic Renault Customer Service...
The R32 is 163bhp/ton which isnt that good (or bad) but no one is going buy one because theyre after an agile hot-hatch.
Id take one for build quality alone.
I wonder in 10 years time, which V6 will be remembered as the classic, the mk1 or the mk2?
Naturally the mk2 is in favour at the moment, because of its current looks, improved handling and better build, etc.
....but when the game has moved on (like it did from the Renault 5 Turbo) and both...
More fuel = more weight over the rear wheels - which is welcome in the V6, especially on a wet roundabout. Car gets very skitish when its almost empty. I think a lot of cars are the same.
Thought Id drag up this old thread.
In case you need reminding, Im fighting Renault to get this fixed...

So in the last couple of months Ive been to the dealer twice, once with a paint expert from Ixell...
That interior is lush - must have cost him ££££! Like the stereo install too, very smart....
....in fact, I usually hate those bonnets where they go over the headlights, but that one looks sweet.
Oh and I forgot to add, my original splitter got knocked off some time ago, so this new one fits directly against the bottom of the front bumper...

It costs around £95 including delivery, this is for the plain black untreated splitter. Simply call Ray Sissins (07790 930602) and hell happily make you one up.
When it arrives it is a little rough around the edges and will need rubbing down - nothing major, but I was far too lazy to do a...
After Tims recommendation, Ive now got a nice V6 trophy splitter which was made by Ray Sissins (R.S Motor Services). Like all the others fitted to mk1s it needed a bit of cutting down, but nothing major.
I think Ill have to avoid any roads that have speed-bumps/potholes/uneven...
Rob, I was reading this months Evo mag, and they reckoned that putting a thicker ARB would tighten up roll (obviously) but lower the threshold of when the car understeers, if fitted to the front. Fitting a fat ARB on the back would have the opposite effect and enhance the oversteer.
Just...
The rubbing on the back required 10mm spacers (on each side), so I got some nicely machined Eibach Pro-spacers - top quality, and just push them out enough! Glad I didnt go for 5mm....
How much? You dont want to know ;) (get them refurbed!)
