They all look the same (for brakes, indicator etc). Are they a common type (used in other cars etc). What type are they (to search online)?
Is the rear fog lamp a different type? What are they called? need to order one but don't know where to start.
Had lots of rear brake issues with my MOT.
Took car to mates and spent a few hours working with him tonight. He freed up the self adjusting wotsits in the drum (both were stuck) which fixed that problem, so hopefully it won't fail the retest with the pedal brakes now.
We (he) also tightened...

Says they came off a 1.8 rsi.
Another part of my MOT fail. What's it all about?
I have a switch that is supposed to move the lamp up and down, but tester said that highest setting wasn't high enough. Thought that was what full beam was for ffs.
Does this have to be a garage job?
First part of my MOT fail.
I think it means the b*stard light doesn't turn on in the dashboard. Sounds lke a real p.i.t.a. for an indication I'll probably never even look at.
Will the dash need to come off or could it be as simple as a fuse or something?
The offside rear fog lamp also...

Also, would they be race legal?
They seem a really good price for a pair of great looking, premium badged harnesses. What's the catch?!
I love my car, but want more power.
What engines could be fitted in a mk1 1.2L Clio?
How much work and component changes would be needed for each type of engine.
Thanks in advance.:star:
Standard vs uprated brake pads
Whats the difference / best to go for?
I'm guessing that uprated = stop quicker, but wear out quicker? :S
What sort of difference are we talking about on both counts?
Are uprated road-legal?
Hi,
Looking for some nice new disks and pads for above model, but having eBayed & Googled, seems that only original or lower standard parts are available.
Is it not possible to get drilled / grooved disks and cool sporty pads for the mk1 1.2?
I know it seems an overkill but I want to make...
During an MOT test, do they observe the visual condition of the pads and disks or do they just test that the brakes stop alright?
To put another way, can my car pass its MOT if the brakes are worn (grinding) but performance seems unaffected.
(No lectures please - I'm getting them seen to).
Having taken my s**t Clio mkI seats out to put in nice new Cobra ones, I now find that I can't attach the seat to the official Cobra/Clio subframe because the original Clio screws are too short (the Cobra subframe is thicker than the original).
b******s. Couldn't they juist put in some longer...
I have a pair of Cobra Monacos that I want to fit in my Clio mk1.
The obvious choice would be to buy the proper Cobra subframes for the car, but these would cost about £150 a pair, almost what I paid from the seats!
The Cobra universal frames would only be £100 but even more importantly...
I want to put a performance exhaust on my mk1, but only expect the car to last another couple of years, so would want to transfer the exhaust to another.
Would a performance exhaust for my mk1 be transferable to other Clio models / car models, or are they model specific?
Will the wheel bolts on my steels also work on my new alloys when I get them? I know its not ideal for the long run. In the short-term I have a high security nut for each wheel, but I want to get the car home and see what it looks like before I choose the remaining bolts to match.

Very interested in these for my Mk1, phase2 Clio.
But different websites say different things!
Venom Motorsport say:
Front axle adjustable within TUV guidelines only. No extreme lowering. 15/45mm

I've been quoted £25 to weld a gas strut back onto the boot of my Clio, but can pick up a arc welder for £90 that could own for life.
Is it possible to teach yourself to weld? Presumedly the professionals would say no, and one recognises the inherent dangers, but anyone had any joy?
I picked up a pair of Cobras for just £161 on eBay, yey! But the Clio mk1 subframes are £65 each and I'm only keeping the mk1 for a year or 2 until it dies.
Could I use the 'budget universal subframes'?
How easy are they to fit? (don't mind spending a few hours but not very good at...
