Just wondered.

If I've stripped the rear and put in a rollcage, where / how should I install a powerful speaker system? I won't accept the 'one or the other' argument. I want rally looks and a Ministry of Sound system! Oh and its gotta be reasonably stealth! That is, not look like more than £100 speakers...

I've stripped the back (capet and seats) from my mk1. Is it a good idea to remove the carpet from the front too? What are the advantages / disadvantages? Is the front spray painted as comprehensibly as the back? Can you still use plastic (fake metal) mats or would they slide around?!

I've been taking my seats out so I can fit some bucket seats (not decided which ones yet). How much of the old frame do I take out? Do I leave the bottom bit with the slider (pic 1) or take it all out completely (pic 2, lhs)? Its a Clio mk1 btw

I've got an MOT coming up, but can't afford to install bucket seats for a few months. Problem is, a lot of the standard front seatbelt equipment is f*cked and I know it will fail the MOT. But I don't want to spend £50+ replacing standard belt equipment when it could go towards decent bucket...

Hi, I want to add a full body kit to my Clio mk1, how much should I lower the front and back? Would you normally lower then add body kit, or the other way round? Thanks! :star:

According to my Haynes Clio modding manual, this should be ET42. I've searched around and a few websites are saying that the wheel can easily be + or - ET5-7. Is this always the case, even if lowering significantly? Would a wheel with ET35 be further inside the wheel arches or stick out more...

Hi, Opportunity to get a nice set of wheels at a good price. I know 16" is okay in theory, 4x100 is correct, ET37 is -5 from perfect, but would the rimwidth of 7.5 be a problem without having to cut things out? What is the rimwidth anyway? Thanks Gabe

I forgot to put one of the sparkplug caps back on before closing the bonnet. Could tell something was wrong but put it down to a new air filter. There was a bit of a smell from the engine, but the car drove alright afterwards. Am I likely to have done any damage? :o

Fitted these the other day and they look great. Bought them at http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/ and got a £10 set of Philips sidelights for free! Can't understand why Philips don't list the Mk1 as a compatible car on their website. Hopefully the lamp molding doesn't melt after a few weeks!

Just replaced my air filter for a nice K&N one only to find a very small amount of oil in the metal chamber below. Is a tiny amount of oil like this normal or does it suggest gasket on the way out? Thanks. :approve:
