There's quite a lot of work there... don't know how much the traders value all that work, but its got to be about £750 - £800 at least? So £1071 at a main dealer isn't criminal, but it's still more expensive than it needs to be.
Umm, is that a beer can next to the wrecked car in pics 1 and 2? :) :) it would explain alot :D
In pic 1, when looking at the road, you can see telltale rainbow lines from fuel on the road, was that from your car? Maybe you actually did slip on diesel and not realise!
What statistical data did you study to reach this conclusion?
Sorry to have to ask, but some people just add the word "statistically" in to a sentence to make an opinion sound factual. I'm sure your not one of them...
After driving the car I bought yesterday, I'd say mine does that a bit too, but I put it down to fast acceleration and good brakes in a car so light, it's going to feel a bit twitchy, whereas a heavier car would feel more planted?
Indeed...
I think most of the cambelt problems are caused by people who just rush in to the job unprepared, not those who make the effort to come on here, read, and learn how to do it properly before starting.
The cambelt thread which did annoy me was the one where an admin or mod asked...
Well I'm gunna fess up and say it took me a full day to do my first oil change.
That did include going to the shops for an oil filter removal tool, and when that didn't work (it just made a mangled mess of the filter which was seized on tight), I had to read up on the internet about what the...
FFS! If you wanted the risk of buying a car with problems you would have gone to an auction and bought one yourself, at trade price, and bypassed the dealer completely. Tell him to fix, its his responsibility.
Just top it up and stop worrying, you won't have damaged it as the oil level showed on the dipstick albeit below the minimum. Its when the dipstick is completely DRY and there's so little oil that oil pressure can't be maintained, and the oil light comes on, that's when you've got a real...
"A bit pissed" means just that; a bit annoyed, a little unhappy. That's a pretty normal reaction to finding damage on your car. It's how you handle that disappointment that's important. You can throw a strop, OR you can handle it sensibly, and I think the OPs handled it sensibly tbh. He's being...
Show me where anyone's thrown a strop or caused a domestic? All he did is mention it to her. I'd have done the same.
"Its not careless its an accident". Lol. Carelessness causes accidents.
Hope I don't buy a car off you then!
Having a little pride in your car isn't a bad thing.
He had to mention it to her so she realises, otherwise she'd just keep being careless and picking up more damage.
Probably psychological tbh.
I know its late and I'm not at my cleverest ;) but you said you changed your oil and it was 6k miles since its last change, so how can the oil that came out be only 3k old?
Brakelight switch is what comes in to my mind, but I'm not sure if the ABS would be affected by a faulty brakelight switch as I've never owned a car with ABS before :o
Good thing you bought from a dealer. You have the right to reject faulty goods and get a full refund within a "reasonable time frame", which is generally a few days after buying. They should be fixing this for you, and if they refuse your probably within your rights to demand a refund. Try to...
But it's things like that which end up making a car look shoddy
A scratch here, scratch there, little dent there ...
I'd probably be a bit pissed too if my GF denied doing it and I knew she had, if you damage someones property you should atleast say sorry, it's not too much to ask is it
