Either that ^, or someone has removed the steering wheel and not aligned it correctly when putting it back on (I made this mistake on my old car!)
Is there and uneven tyre wear or vibrations?
I'd be tempted to undo the sump plug slightly and then re-tighten it to the correct torque just to make sure it's on properly. That could possibly make the leak slightly worse though as the washer is being decompressed and compressed again.
If that didn't work, then rightly or wrongly, I'd...
Well I know I'll be showing my inexperience, but it's the first time I've heard of a "show cage"!
Is that actually what I think it is... A roll cage that won't offer any protection i.e. it is just for show?
If so, that is even more stupid than the dummy NOS bottle. I can't believe people would...
I posted this on http://www.kelsey-forums.co.uk/cgi-bin/cmm/YaBB.pl?num=1313074844 (MoT Section) - there's a few MoT testers on there.
They agree - pass and advise!
My engine light comes on for a few hours or days then goes out. I bought the car knowing this and fully expected to have to change the O2 sensor, but I put it in to MoT with a bottle of Wynn's Emissions Reducer after a fairly hard drive and it made it through the emissions test (albeit just; the...
From line 4 of that guide:
"On some of my pictures you will see my engine has been removed, this guide is to change with the engine in, the pictures just make good refrence."
There's a guide! I read it the other week.
It's here: http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?258911-172-182-gearbox-change-clutch&highlight=gearbox
I don't know, but I was told by a 1.6 Megane owner that he needed to use a special socket (not a normal spark plug socket) on his car, and that if my engine was the same, I could borrow his.
He's an aircraft engineer and he's been rebuilding engines and fixing cars all his life, so I would tend...
Just be aware that not everyone has a good experience. NW Performance is the company I see the most complaints about when browsing this forum. Have a read through previous threads before making up your mind.
The Zafira was in the wrong, but it's a minor mistake and hardly worth talking about IMO. I know why you wanted to post it though (it's the first thing your camera has caught of any interest) and that's fine.
I might as well do the same and post a video from my dash cam of the other day. This...
Yeah, I find my 172 is a little like this. It doesn't feel very "planted" at speed, but I just put it down to it being a small, lightweight FWD car. It's not too bad either, I can live with it. I've seen quite a few threads about it so quite a few of them must be like it, so it's probably not...
Unlucky chap. I don't think you'll any luck with the warranty. I've read the "What's Covered" sections of a few, and they've always said cambelt failure is excluded (due to being a wear and tear / service item).
It makes sense because nobody with a warranty that covered cambelt failure would...
I remember it being on Watchdog at least 3 times, and I remember thinking "Renault are handling this really badly", I seem to remember them first denying there was a problem at all, and then saying it was down to owners not maintaining the catch properly.
Bonnets flying up on Clio's has happened...
Couldn't be more wrong really. You buy from a dealer so that any major problems discovered after the sale get fixed. That's the whole point of paying dealer prices - the warranty which you get by law. If you don't expect a warranty, you can buy the car cheaper privately or via auction.
I've always liked the idea of a car that is fast but doesn't look it, and the 172's are bargains compared to the 182's, so the choice was obvious really!
They say you should never run your car to empty because it'll pick up the crud from the bottom of the tank and cause a blockage, so it could possibly be that (a blocked fuel filter or pick up).
You could change the side 'repeater' indicators to clear (from orange). That looks much better than orange ones on a black car. This is about the only mod I intend to do to my 172! :)
I always understood that Cat B could never return to the road, and that's what it says at all the sources I saw while Googling? E.g.:
Insurance Loss Categories - Quick reference
* Category A - Must be crushed. All of it.
* Category B - Vehicle may not be returned to...
I'd probably just fix the light to make it road legal again then keep driving it, but that's just me.
Maybe fix the light then stick it on eBay as a normal car (not spares or repairs) which has had a rear-end bump, and take photo's of the damage, someone after a bargain will buy it with a...
Sounds like a bodge to me, it'll probably last long enough for the garage to be able to say "Tough luck, your problem now" when it starts leaking again lol. Still, a new sump isn't that expensive and at least you know what was wrong with it now.
