The torque figure peaks earlier on RS2's and holds it throughout the range, but you guys are acting like those cams are laggy as s**t when they are actually not, you got over 150lbft at just under 3000 rpm but starts dropping after 5500 but still makes over 140lbft until 6500 rpm.
yeecup does...
Maybe I was asking where he bought it from? Maybe if you weren't so up tight and defensive chip you wouldn't be ready for an argument with anyone and anyone. Calm down a bit.
edit: and thanks, I hope it goes well too lol.
if I had spare time I would actually have a go at the conversion myself...
Thats exactly the problem to be honest, clio's are good value for money how they come out the box, after owning 3 clio's now including the turbo I bought off you I'd rather go elsewhere now, next project being a zlet corsa. The money you spend getting such small gains just isn't worth it.
So what if I want 438's & a RS2, we talking higher torque with the cams and the inlet will hold onto that torque? A consistent spread of 160lbft would be nice with a peak of 210bhp ?
Even if you wanna talk peak figures ,I've never seen cams make 200bhp either without being complimented by bodies, the torque may not be as peak as cams but seems every way you look at it cams don't compete, except on price of course, cams are like half the price of this manifold circa £1000...
+1
A clio is going to feel quicker than a VXR because its more redefined.
my mates saxo vts always "felt" quick but when I had my scirocco tdi I was pulling on him from rolling 30 mph which was epic funny because I'm accelerating so smooth and not even feeling the road with its ultra smooth...
Definitely , in standard forms they are pretty much even, look on torque stats or Parkers, pretty much same 0-60, 60-100 and 1/4 mile they're pretty much the same (VXR) being very slightly faster , but a 242bhp VXR is a different matter.
Even if they're costing £700 to produce, he sells them at what? £1700? That's a thou profit each unit, that would be enough for me to keep making them!
Bhp per tonne, peak bhp, torque figures , any way you look at it the VXR will be faster straight line, what are you gunna tell me next? Clio's more aero-dynamic making it faster?
ill agree in this case the clio would maybe have an advantage round track. But CS members get way too ahead of...
All this chat is going to make people want an RS2. Even though there is actually quite a lot of demand for them, seen threads about it on ford and vauxhall forums people saying they want one. I even would like one but I'd use the £2k on better things. Maybe James should start bringing them back...
I'd have to disagree a 242bhp VXR puts it at 197.3bhp per tonne (1223kg curb weight)
whereas a clio 182 with roughly 170 bhp because that's what they make equates to around 155bhp per tonne.
a clio is not quicker.
RS Clios always punch above they're weight. Cracking cars, and can't really get better value for money. However they are even when the VXR is standard, and only a clown would keep a VXR standard, it's a turbo, tune it!
Then.. Bye bye clio.
I wouldn't spend money changing the cams C&B's are good anyway, even if you get more aggressive cams your Gunna see very small gains, spend the money on ITB's or experiment the RS2 with cams method
Need an earth and loom to wire into for a new gauge just wondered if I could pair into the wires going into the boost gauge or would that not be recommended? I can't see any other suitable way of wiring up the new gauge, I f**king hate electricals
Boost gauge wires
Gauge wires...
Well kinda, I mean obviously it has an intercooler and the wastegate noise (don't have a DV) it doesn't look anything special,
And wag I know exactly what you mean about the clutch, I've got a helix 4 paddle and it's a ***** lol, although I have absolutely no problem driving it now, just...
