    My Clio 172

It was about two years ago, I had my silver Turini's refurbished and painted anthracite. So it was about time I had them refurbished and painted again, but in gloss black... Hopefully they'll be going on the car this weekend along with four new Continental Sport Contact tyres :)

Bright lights... well, just the one

A couple of weeks ago, on my way back from Mallory Park, friends told me one of my headlights was brighter than the other. A pic was taken of my mates car but you can see mine in the background and you can see the drivers light is brighter than the passenger... Does anybody know why this...

    Wheel bearing

As I said, I've had them for about a year and in that time, I've done two or three track days as well as a trip to the 'Ring. I have covered approx. 15k miles too. Hmmm. I had a friend do them last year for some small cash, so that is maybe where it went wrong. I'll try and speak to them tonight...

    Wheel bearing

Are there any visible signs of a wheel bearing gone or on its way out? I had the rear(s) replaced about this time last year and it appears the NSR is on its way out... again. Grrr! So apart from the what can only be described as a whirring/grinding noise, which is similar to the noise I...

    What's your area like?

In the pic, you can tell how thick the metal is so it wouldn't have been as easy as to just pull it off. They must have been there bending it until it snapped. Idiots. Even though mine had been snapped, they had bent my housemates wiper on her 206 and I tried yesterday to bend it back, but...

    What's your area like?

What is your area like, for trouble, vandalism? I woke up Sunday morning, went out to the car and noticed this... I noticed several other cars had been targeted. The tw*ts responsible put the snapped wiper on the roof of my car. They also removed the car aerial and that too was put on...

Pic request: Silver 172/182 with black Turini's/Speedlines

Haha! I've seen posts advising people to go silver... and some to go back to the flat 5 spokes and get rid of the Turini's. Soon everybody will revert back. I'm not a sheep so wanting to do the opposite :p

    Ph2 Clio 172

Mine's a '51 plate and that is what I was saying... I can't see any reason to sell it. Yep! :) Kind of the same philosophy behind why I want to do exactly that :) And your car is quite a lot more than mine... and it's a year newer :)

    Ph2 Clio 172

I bought my '51 reg. Ph2 172 approx. four years ago with 25k miles. It now has 101k miles and it's still going strong :) In August 2010, I had the cambelt, auxillary belt done as well as a few other bits (service, brake discs, pads, hoses, etc...), which cost me approx. £1k with Mike/Dave @...

Ph2 Clio 172 centre cap key

I bought a couple of standard Ph2 172 wheels last week for £100, including tyres :) As I've never had these wheels before (have always had Turini's), I noticed the centre cap is attached using a key. I popped into a local dealer who said the key is priced at £14.00 + VAT. I have just...

    lowering

It depends how much you want to spend. There's an un-written rule that if you were to lower a car up to 40mm, then you'll be ok with the standard shocks/dampers, but anything more, it's recommended to upgrade. If you retain the standard shocks/dampers, you may notice the ride/handling not...

    100k

As Danny said, I'd only look at replacing something if it's broken or on its way to being broken/faulty. I was asking... similarly to cambelts being done every x number of miles. I assume the clutch should be changed at 100k miles if it hasn't already been done. Just wondering if there's...

    100k

In less than 100 miles, my car will be hitting the 100k miles mark :) Still going VERY strong for a '51 plate 172 :) I'm due to have the clutch done soon. Anything else "major" that I should be looking at replacing?

    Boot catch

I had this minor problem before, which Rentech sorted when I had the car down there for a service. The boot does close, just... but the lid is loose causing it to knock when going over bumps. Does anybody how to solve it? I'm assuming it's just a case of tigtening some bolts up as opposed...
