    ***How much is it worth?***

Re: trade in price and don't 4get, garages dress it up, offer you a good p/x but no dicount on the new car. You go in with cash, then kick em in the nuts with a low offer. or even better buy private if you know what yer doin

    how much!!

confused.com, or money super market elephant are good, but they offer 10 month policies, not always accepted as NCB by other insurance companies
  8. joe81

    how much!!

it ain't worth it, however........ put a named driver on the policy, the older the better, someone retired, mum, dad or grandad. Reduce it a few hundred quid. Park it in a garage!, don't lie, but it might be worth avin the use of one. First suggestion is a winner though

    ***How much is it worth?***

Re: trade in price I agree - a garage 3k. Sold mine on P/H and it was mint 3.5k, which i think is a fair price in this market, same year, 60k miles sell it private, then go to the dealers with cash, cash is king! make the effort, then you dictate terms at the dealers when you buy the...

    What would you do??

Look at these cars and think money and value. The 182 will have a better residual value, if its long term get a 182 and loose less cash in the future when you sell it. You NEVER get money back on mods, i know a car is about the love, but ain't nothin worse than seein yer cash disapear.
  14. joe81

    What would you do??

In this market get a 182, shop carefully and you'll have 500 quid minimum to play with. Its a buyers market, just be prepared to kick people in the nuts, no harm trying

    172 / 182

    52 plate 172 with 47k Miles...2.5k

Haha, can of worms like i said. Write offs are based on their value, and i don't agree with them. You get a 50k car needing 30+k of work onit, obviously gunna be a real mess, insured repairs it, no record of this on its history:eek: you have a 3k come in needing a couple of thou spending...

    52 plate 172 with 47k Miles...2.5k

yeah, i agree, you'll open up a can of worms on this subject, and to be honest people ain't got a clue about vehicle catagories, lots of false perceptions, i deal with salvage all day long at work. if yer happy then so be it, always worth buyin if its for the long term, just don't load it up...

    Aux and timing belts disaster!!

Gutted. Wouldn't call it a silver lining scenario, they'll try and fix the engine, and you may have future problems with it. Insist on a new engine, i would, useless barstewards, at least they admitted fault
