put a named driver on the policy, the older the better, someone retired, mum, dad or grandad. Reduce it a few hundred quid.
Park it in a garage!, don't lie, but it might be worth avin the use of one.

Sold mine on P/H and it was mint 3.5k, which i think is a fair price in this market, same year, 60k miles
sell it private, then go to the dealers with cash, cash is king!

The 182 will have a better residual value, if its long term get a 182 and loose less cash in the future when you sell it.
You NEVER get money back on mods, i know a car is about the love, but ain't nothin worse than seein yer cash disapear.
In this market get a 182, shop carefully and you'll have 500 quid minimum to play with.
Its a buyers market, just be prepared to kick people in the nuts, no harm trying

172- has air con, half leather, abs, blah blah.
Cup- cloth trim, no spare alloy, no abs no air con, bog basic, but very nice colour, lightweight alloys too, just sold mine, had a ph1, cup is by far better.
182 has a four branch manifold, hench slightly...
