Not much to report apart from enjoying driving it :)
Fitted a Powerflex dog bone mount kit yesterday and I'm very pleased with how the car feels now, and how much better the gearchanges are now.
I've also gone with some yellowstuff front pads for the track evening next week, initial...
Cam belt is due at 72k or 5 years, which ever is soonest.
Aux belt due 36k I think.
Very important to do BOTH with BOTH tensioners. A failing aux belt can take the cam belt out with it ;)
Make sure you soak the rear ones in WD40/Plusgas a day/few hours at least, before trying to undo them as they get caked in all the cr*p from the road ;)
A wire brush wouldnt go amiss too lol
Rear shocks mate, one of mine sprung a leak and I had to drive it for a day like it, albeit carefully and if going round a right hand bend and hitting a small bump mid way round, it literally felt like the left rear wheel hit a patch of ice it skipped out that badly. Very un-nerving....
I bought 1litre of Super Blue and had loads left over, thats with a good lot of the new stuff coming through every corner.
Took about 20mins doing it the old fashioned 2-person way. Backs first then fronts :) Easier with the wheels off
Basically I need a brake pad thats good for fast road and occasional track days/evenings but doesnt cost the earth, i.e. over £100....so that removes PF97's, CL's, Pagid RS4-2's.
I've been trawling past threads but havent really narrowed it down....
1144's seem to only last a few laps before...
I would prefer the 20th or 21st myself as its the gfs birthday on the 15th so may be away. But I'll try and fit in with the majority if possible ;)
Can someone set a poll up with the different dates so that people can vote? I'm not sure how...
