The way I understand it is as follows:
For insurance to be valid, you must have valid road tax.
Valid road tax requires a valid MOT.
So surely, no valid MOT makes road tax void, makes insurance invalid?
She is already having it repaired, so another garage wont be able to quote on the damage. I have a good mind to let her go through the insurance now for trying to rip me off. I really didnt mind paying for the damage I did cause, but am not willing to have her take me for a ride.
I do have pics, but things is. Surely my insurance wont pay out if they havent been able to assess the damage and agree to the repairs beforehand?
I am quite willing to take this through the insurance now, as I know she is taking the piss. I was doing 3mph tops, so there is no way that her...
I recently knocked a car in the works car park whilst reversing. I got out straight away, and saw I had scratched the corner of her front bumper and craacked the indicator lens cover. I went straight in, found out whose car it was and we went and looked at the car. She tried to say that the...
Well, it has killed my ipod. The pod worked fine when just using the headphones, then plugged it in today and it started up then i got the error 01 message, then the ipod went dark, followed by the unhappy ipod icon and a web address.
Am currently in emails with alpine about this.
I would get the number plate surrounds if i was to get these, the ones the dubmeister sell.
I dont see the point in stealing number plates, they belong to one car and one car only.
Have actually already tried that and it didnt make any difference.
What settings do you have the ipod set to when it is plugged in. I wondered if having the ipod set to shuffle, and then asking the HU to shuffle as well may be confusing it or something?
Has anyone got an ipod linked up to their alipne headunit using the Alpine kce-422i lead?
I got one and the ipod freezes after 25 minutes use whenever its connected. The whole point of getting that lead was to enable me to control the pod via the HU, and it charges the ipod as well.
The...
Things is, the GTOs arent exactly slow are they? Why pretend its a Ferrari, just enjoy your fast Mitsi. Having said that, whats the difference to people changing body parts on their 1.2 to make a RS Clio replica?
It does, but going from previous numerous threads, its not possible on any of the non sports. But perhaps you can prove otherwise if you manage to get yours replaced and it all works.
Is it the same internal diameter though, and can you even get the ones off the non sport driveshafts, I tried more than one garage, dealers and independents and they all said no. And it wasnt to try and sell me a driveshaft, as I told them I would be sourcing my own.
Interested to find out if...
I dont hink he has, they may be abs rings. But i doubt they are for his clio. There is no renault part number for abs rings for non sport clios. Only for the RS. And I would be surprised if they are the same size, number of teeth etc so wouldnt work anyway. I had 2 driveshafts replaced on...
I would be pretty confident its the ring if when you brake hard you sometimes get a metallic feel through the pedal as well. On the non-sport clios, it means a new driveshaft though, as you cant get the rings for the non sports seperately.
Thats it, i suspect real world savings will be negligible for most. Like I said, I am expecting car insurance to go up quite a lot if the governement passes the anti-age discrimination laws that are being talked about. Because they sure as hell wont put the younger drives insurance down, they...
I wasnt having a go, just trying to give an idea of difference mpg makes. To be honest, I drive like that to work. It takes more effort but you can see the difference it makes in how much less petrol you use. Save the lead foot for when I am off work etc.
difference between 39 and 47mpg, with petrol at 120p per litre, would be £208 a year on my 170mile a week work drives to and from work. Just for reference
Just to let you know, a 2003 RS clio 172 or 182 will be group 31 when the new groups come out.
so thats group 16 of 20 = 80%;
compared to
group 31 of 50 = 62%
group 10 on parkers is an error, go here and enter your car details, shows current group and the new group it will be in

My current car is group 5 (25%) of the 20 insurance groups, when it changes to 50 groups I will be group 11 (just over 20%) of the groups, so in theory that should be cheaper.
The increase in groups is to stop peple at the bottom of the group having to pay the same as people whose cars are at...
Erm at the moment it goes up to 20, but there are changes a foot to have 50 groups, should save some people some money if you work out your current group against the new one as a percentage placing in the groups.
Having said that, if the new no age discrimination bill thingy goes through, and...
