    dephaser pully - please advise

So what does a noisy dephaser sound like???? High pitched whine? Low pitching droning? Clatter? Sorry - not afraid to sound thick by not knowing - just interested to find out.

    Trophy - Newark near FOCUS

You were just pulling out of the junction when I was pulling in. My mrs saw you put your hand up, sorry I was busy with the ar5ehole behind in the Zafira trying to get in the boot. I was in the Racing Blue 182 Cup. :D

Faded bonnet, should I wrap it?

Get someone to give you a price or you give them beer vouchers for a quick machine polish. You'd be surprised how much better this is than a hand polish. Then get a few good layers of uv stable wax or sealant on it. Should be good for a good few months.

    Light scratches.

JD where are you based mate? - I am sure I have met you at a Lincoln meet in the past - could be wrong though. Your advice is good. Money not too much of an object to me when it comes to products - so I have bought based on recommendation and then made up my own mind as to whether I like them or...

    Smoke over 5.5k revs

I would say, not smoke, but steam. Condensation mate from water being burnt off as steam that has settled in the tailpipes of the exhaust. Mine exactly same and I have a RB182cup. You will most probably find that this happens a hell of a lot less in the warmer weather.

http://www.autoglym.com/enGB/product-proddetail.asp?v06VQ=HD&Range=1 "...Autoglym Super Resin Polish is the ultimate easy to use combination cleaner, polish and sealant...." I know people say it offers NO protection but this is what the AG site says. Agreed you will get FAR FAR superior...

:boring: But you're not exactly helping the OP are you? I don't dispute you being entitled to an opinion chap. I still own a Cup and a CTR and I have a slightly better way of getting my opinion over.

Massey Ferguson interior oo-aarrr. lol You're easy to please aren't you.:coffee: If you're not going to give either car any credible praise keep out of the thread.

keep the (cup) or buy a (type r)

Hardly. I wouldnt really class the Clio interior as shite, unless you've not got a Renaultsport. The half leather/alcantara is a nice touch imo. The older Type R's without the red seat trim/ door cards look a bit more bland, but i think a lot of people on here will agree the pic above is not...

Type R. Worth making the move, i had my 172 for 2.5 years and chopped it in against a Type R. I've had that now nearly 3 years and it great. Not cost me a penny other than normal servicing, which I might add is reasonable even at main dealer. I'm not biased either, I've just bought the mrs a...

Off to look at a 182

Come on fellas, if you were considering buying a different car and asked on another forum and you got "no one has experience of 182's" and "whats a 182?", I am sure you would all think, to55ers  Even if it was meant in jest. Give the lad a break - it might seem funny, but for a...

Cracking shots you posted above there Revels. Tiger shot is superb, you are certainly right to be very very happy with that. The other two are great too! As you say, there's no substitute for skill/experience behind the camera. It took me many many visits to get consistent shots from...

    Light in Cig Lighter/ashtray area

When I removed the cig lighter the other night and opened the ashtray, I noticed that there was no light in that area, but I remember from having a 172 that there was a bulb behind there that illuminated it orange. Car is a 182 Cup. Am I right in thinking there should be some light from said...

    dying out the inside!

Have you tried leaving a pack of dehumidifying crystals in the footwell overnight? It should collect water in the bottom of the tank. Leave it in every night for a couple of weeks. You can get them from Homebase, B&Q, Wilkinson etc.

    Smokey 182

Reason for me doing a search now on "exhaust"+"smoke" :o I'd been driving about 15mins, 15 miles on Sunday, got to a roundabout floored it and there was a mass of exhaust cloud behind me - and it was the back screen that completely fogged up, it was def steam/condensation of some kind as it...
