Am I right in thinking a bonnet vent should face forward if it's acting as a cold air intake for the Ik and face the rear if it is for removing hot air from under the bonnet?

Just done a search on wheel offsets and came up with a range of 37 - 48.5mm. I have a phase 1 172 and want to go from the standard 15" with 195/50/15 to 16" OZ Super Ts with 195/45/16. What is the definitive offset for the 16"rims if the car is lowered 50mm all round. Thanks in advance.
