    Best colour 182

I think you misundestood me, for the phase 1 172 it has to be that bright silver [titanium], but 172s or 182s it's not.

Tyre was on the wrong way too!

    Best colour 182

The original bright silver is the colour for the original 172. But not for a phase2 172 or 182 :p

    Best colour 182

Liquid yellow or Black gold with both cup packs of course. Racing Blue sometimes look ace, but other times can look really boring to me.

    Black 182 alloys or turinis?

Anthracite 182 alloys look nice. Turinis look a bit customised, but an almost standard replacement wheel. Black 182 alloys, as demonstrated in the photo in this thread look decidedly Halfords - I don't see the appeal in making your alloys dissappear and your tyres look grey/brown.

    clio 197 or clio 182?

I can't wait for the next installment comparison! Clio 203? As said they're both/all great cars, but the 197/200 edges in looks for me (as good as the 182 Cup pack cars do), they look awesome on the road, very wide purposeful stance.

Crystal Renault, Boston - Belt change Fail

It says in the other thread that the belts etc were done 2 years ago - that's a long time for a failure to occur as a direct result of whoever did the belts surely?

    Ride quality difference

The 197 I test drove rode fine IMO for this kind of car, it's a hot hatch so not going to be soft and wallowy. It has a bigger car planted feel to it compared to the 1#2, so therefore even though it's still stiff it has a subjectively good but firm ride.

Silver 182 and Blue 172 at Oulton Park 4th August

Saw a couple of RS Clios at Oulton Park yesterday. I was in a black BMW M Coupe. Was behind the blue 172 when the bike engine Yellow kit car (not sure what it was) went down the inside at Island bend was pretty close! (mega aggressive driving ended up coming off the track a few times in front...

    Clio 1.2 16v MPG, against a DCI

The 1.2 16v is great for mpg if it's driven properly, often people drive them hard and expect them to still return good figures!!? One we had the long term average was 44mpg which is very good. If you go over 70mph the mpg drops a lot as the engine is being worked relatively harder, but between...

Exalto's - Why are they so expensive?

Prices haven't really changed much 195/50/15 still remain to be one of the cheapest "sporty" sizes available due to it's mass market use. £30-£40 a corner isn't unknown for a decent brand tyres wheras 16" 195/45 or 205/45 can be double that often. Plus 16" tyres have always been relatively...

    182 info

Buy a 182 "FF" with all the trimmings (xenons, alcantara/leather, climate, cup suspension and spoilers etc) then add the stripes after (but it'd look better without :D)

    Cadwell Park 7th July

I got some video footage here - it's got a 52 plate Cup, Whiteley's mk1, a red 16v, the Trophy and the Racing Puma in it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2CsvN4vL5Y

    Some good photos there! Mine's the black M Coupe, you seem to have got some different angles than the professional who seems to use the same places. I like this one!;

    HID Non sport

If you stick with the reflector headlights, look for a H7R HID kit (the R bit is important as it's design for use in non-projector units similar to Laguna and some Volvos), at least this will try and control the light output properly.

    182 without cup packs

So you think a 172 and non-Cup'd 182 have the same stance/look as a cup'd 182? It's only subtle but it's there and for some people (like me) it's important with how a car looks. Some people don't get it though! :)

best way to drive to save petrol

Yea the fuel cut off in gear when decelerating reduces fuel usage to less than that of idle. It isn't just throttle position, less revs uses less fuel for the same throttle, but you don't want to labour the engine, but the 182 does drive well under 2000rpm on light throttle. Mine averaged...

    shaking steering wheel???

Highly unlikely to be tracking, it's something rotating that is out of balance causing a vibration. Out of track usually just wears your tyres but doesn't introduce vibration.

    182 without cup packs

The extra track width is noticeable IMO, it just makes the car look better and viewing non-cup'd 182s (and also looking at 172s) the narrow track spoils the stance a little. So fitting lowering springs won't change this.
  22. C

    Non sport adding xenons

You could just get the bare headlight units and get an aftermarket HID kit but you may have to modify the wiring that way too. The reason being the aftermarket kits are designed for "h1" "H7" etc so the kit comes with a plug that fits on the exitsitng headlight plug on the car. But in the case...

    PE'2 Speed Rating, 2 Types

No, as even the lowest speed rating is still plenty enough for a 182. Usually the W (higher one) is often the easiest to get hold of too but the V is the OEM rating I'm sure.

Finally, a viewer comin to see my car tonight

I agree a deposit would normally be taken and works for both the seller and the buyer. It gives them both confidence; for the seller that the car is sold to someone who is serious and said they want to buy it and for the buyer that feels safe that the car is theirs and gives them time to arrange...

How do i tell if my 182 is definately a cup??

As long as it's got the all-important amphasites!

Finally, a viewer comin to see my car tonight

I hear what you're saying but it works both ways IMO; it can often look like the bonnet has never been lifted if it's full of leaves and dirt. You can give an engine bay a quick clean with a sponge without going over the top "detailing" it.

CS's rarest spot? Black dci 100 co-op in shotts

Blue "C" and "i" on the side badges. Rear discs and a different gear pattern (reverse next to 4th?).

    Comments requested (harsh welcome too)

Standard sells much easier. The wheels as said will definitely be narrowing your potential buyers hugely. Just find some decent 172 alloys on ebay! sell the bigger ones on so you woun't lose anything on the swap.

    Car feels really slow, why?

It's none of the above, it's aggressive clutch control.
