ok, can someone tel me how to do this...
I wanna upload the pics so they show on the screen not just as links to photobucket, or do u reckon that would be better? :s
Ive found the before and after tests so i'l scan and post them tonite.
Can't find my best one which is annoyin but i'm sure its hoarded away somewhere lol, if you get a chance to compare both graphs please do, the torque curve looks very different
I meant it got there without a struggle fool but then didn't tail off but just went straight, i smell something fishy and i'm not talking about the contents of baldricks appple crumble!
Also come to mention it, it seems to hav a cut off line of some sort...
I'l hav to try and find the bit of paper, i don't i threw it away but may wel hav done cos was cross...
Wen he did it i watched the screen and the bhp soared and all of a sudden at 85bhp became a sraight line? like a heart...
Is it possible for a 'sour grapes garage' to deibratley understate power figures??
I took my little DCI to a company with a rolling road and they told me 79.1 bhp at the wheels & 119lbs per ft.
They asked if i wanted them to do me a remap which i didn't accpet cos it was cheaper elsewhere...
but how would you know?
this is the thing see, are all these ppl posting their times based on having some kind of proffessional timing equipment?
My clocks my not be that accurate ppl sayin 60 on clock isn't actually 60, but if manufacturer say 0-60 is 10secs and i time it the same to within say...
Decided to take a fellow Dci members advice (Black Kro) and fit a panel filter to my remapped dci to see if it would make any difference.
And....
It has!! :D
Theres no noticeable increase in horsepower, but it not too noisy & has opened up another 500 rpm in my rev range! Nice one ;)
ok we'l give that a go :)
can it be welded or will he new a new exhaust?
feel a bit guilty cos i went with him to help choose it but had no idea of that problem cos we didn't sit in the rear for the test drive, his folks aren't too happy with me i think :dapprove:
its weird cos to drive...
Yeah that would seem possible now that u mention it, trouble is he's not got any money to fix it quite at teh moment, wil it matter if he leaves it a month or two?
wonder if any techinal gurus may be able to help with this one...
My mate bought an old 'P' reg vauxhall astra manual 1.6 today, and after we'd driven it back to his place i clambered into the back & put my hand on the rear floor carpet (just below where the rear air vents are) and it was...
Wel, tell that to parkers, a fabia vrs weighs in at 1315 kg and my little clio even with aircon is only a modest 980kg by comparison - so 335 kg's lighter or wot 54 stone? lol
Compared to a 172 tho like you say, theres no comparison. Except in gear of course :) Its quicker than a standard...
Wasn't talkin bout the VX no, was referin to ure comments bout it bein significantly slower than 172 / 182, which i appreicaited you puttin cos i wasn't trying to compete at that level only say it was quick for a diesel :)
I'm quite pleased bout all the response this post has had :)
I'd like...
Thanx i'm glad u posted that cos i neva sed it wasn't, just that it was quick for a diesel. In terms of straight line acceleration the 172 is quicker but in gear i reckon i win cos of the additional torque.
I know that almost for a fact cos edde posted a test of a 220bhp petrol golf doin think...
Actually you are mistaken, the standard quoted 0-60 for the dci 100 is 10.3 seconds. Its the dci 80 that claims the figures you quoted. See link:
http://www.parkers.co.uk/cars/specs/Data.aspx?model=742
Tbh i think we're kinda missing the point here. I posted all kinds of test figures. Not...
No, i previously timed it the old fashioned way without the video cos tbh its hard as hell to change gear at the rite times while driving and holding a camera at the speedo lol :)
Anyway i gotta work now, leave your comments please :)
lol, i feel like i'm treadin on ppls toes here...
The original post was to prove 90 in under 17 secs from a 1.5 diesel :) reckon i'd hav no trouble beating a standard 1.4 16v tho if thats wot you drive. Even 1.6's are easy for me :)
Its not the best method i admit lol but its all i had on me at the time & you wonted to see it :)
It will reach 60 in 8 seconds comfortably & thats good enuf for me :)
I'm not sayin its quicker than a 182, only that it will do 0-90 in under 17 seconds. The vid wasn't really fair cos only started recording about 3 secs after i pressed the record button, but thats fones for you, theres always a couple of seconds delay...
Its not a 4 second increase to 60, its a shade over 2, and a 5-6 second increase to 90. Like i say, it may be more thats why its goin back on the rollers on wed :)
Wel here goes...
time it yourselves if you like, bearing in mind it only shows from 30 for the reasons stated, i'l try and do another wen ive got more time & start the vid rolling a few secs BEFORE like suggested :)...
Another annoying thing is that on the k800's theres about a 3 second gap between pressing the button to record & it actually recording (you can test it if you have one) which means that since i pressed the button wen i floored it, the recording actually starts showing from about 30mph, hitting...
