can people in the trade give me some answers (i'm getting varied answers whoever i ask!)
on the renault workshop manual it gives 2 methods for tensioning in the cambelt
the first is if the exhaust pulley nut and inlet phase shifter bolt need to be slackened, in which case you time the engine...
right some very simple questions here:
1. what is the 172 rev limit
2. when does the vvt (or whatever it's called) kick in? is it exactly 5k?
3. does anyone know the optimum rev range to change gear? or is that going to be a rolling road job to find where the power peaks?
that is all :)
i know the ITB boys do this when removing the inlet, can you do this whilst leaving the inlet in place, or is there only one way the leads can run under the inlet?
i now this probably isnt a common question, its either that or i block the bonnet vent (its letting water get to the coil pack)...
right, after searching and reading numerous threads i'm still not sure what i need to do this: (apologies for bringing it back up again :rolleyes: )

right to you 172 owners, just after the setup on the inlet plenum there is a small outlet pointing towards the back of the car, whats this for? vacuum for brake servo? just need someone to tell me where it goes

can someone with a ph1 (no uch, very important!!!) unplug the coil pack connector and firstly tell me how many pins are on the coil pack plug, then tell me how many wires are on the plug connector coming out of it
