Ive been having loadsa fun and only spun it once (no damage - just spun in the middle of the road)
My fave road at the moment is Swindon to Oxford A420 which is 25 miles or so of fast single carriageway with a few miles of dual to break it up. I tend to be flying down it a few times a week...
That Prima Coupe kit is gorgeous - get one of those and scrap all ideas of the 5 door!!
Although my car is as standard as they come I do like *most* modified cars I see. That 5 door is pretty grim though! I was going to try and be constructive with my criticism but the only thing I can...
The exception you mention is mine I guess Roamer ;)
Wasnt the best event ever but was good to be able to slip the Cup into the indoor parking to keep us warm whilst we sat around so big thanks to the KroozMidz people... Nice to meet the other ClioSporters as well!!
Biggest thanks to Hippy...
My clutch wore out at 17 days and 2.5k miles and they tried to pin it on me as well!!!
Ive just had confirmation that they will change the gearbox under warranty so I am as happy as they come at the moment!! Im still without a car and will be until at least next Thursday but apparantly that...
*UPDATE*
God I hate these people...
Anyway, I am still without a car since Saturday night because the dealer were convinced it was my problem. RenaultUK have been no help at all because they believe the dealer that it is driver error.
I have logged all calls between myself, the dealer...
I was on the phone to my local Honda dealer today making tentative enquiries and I swore I would never go over to the dark side!! It does seem to be a growing trend amongst Clio owners...
I searched for that for ages!!
The DVLA told me it was issued so I keep expecting to see it turn up on a dodgy old Metro or something. All my friends and family are on strict orders to pull over and aprehend the owner of it if they ever spot it!!
He will sell the plate seperately from the car but wants £2k for it. He bought it 6months ago for £1500...
The car is an ex demo (of sorts) with 4/500 miles but was registered a year ago. This chap used to sell Cups over the net and so now has no need for a display model.
Thanks cliosport. Thats useful ammo which i think Im going to need!
Theres no way they can deny the problem - the car isnt moving anywhere at the moment! The trouble is theyve already replaced the clutch and gearbox under warranty so theyre reluctant to do it again. Ill just have to wait and...
Not yet...
Im waiting to hear tomorrow whether or not theyll do it as a warranty job. My next move will depend on the outcome of that.
It doesnt help my current crisis of no car though!!!
My poor little Cup has broken again...
The really bad part about it this time is both the dealer and Renault UK are refusing to lend me a car because they havent yet assertained the cause of the problem and they think the liability for the work may rest with me... This is not the first time...
I had Proxes last time and wasnt that impressed so bought a set of F1s this time for about £80 a corner...
I needed them fast and got them from KwickFit without shopping around so Im sure you could get a better price on them. The difference they made is absolutely amazing!
Yup...
And one of the only 5 door clios that looks half decent as well!! (thats not me dissing people with 5 door clios BTW, just my own personal opinion:oops:)
A friend of mine did a run up SantaPod at USC last year in his FTO (boo, hisss...) and it made 1.5 secs difference when he left the aircon on accidentally - massive difference over such a short distance!
Loving this thread though! Keep up the good work ;)
Congrats on the car!
Going for very long pointless drives to pile on the miles is definately the way to go if you insist on running in it gently - Theres no way youll manage to contain yourself otherwise!!
Just imagine youre sat next to a CTR at the front of the queue at a set of traffic...
I know the debate about the 172 Cup and the 172 has been ongoing for some time now and I cant wait for the new 182 boys to add fuel to the fire (;)) but it seems odd to me reading why other Cup drivers bought the car...
I appreciate that the track may be a little bit wider and its a little bit...
The exclusive had the single cd player in the dash as well as the multichanger. The standard one had a tape player plus multichanger.
I believe the general advice is, if you like the wheels and the paint (which I dont!) then go for it, if not then theres little point!!
Good to see so many excited cup owners/owners to be!
Ive had mine for 6 months now and dont regret a second of it! I still cant help but smile when I walk up to it and drive off!!!
