hmmm I know mate...but unfortunately I am not really concerned with it :)
However it could use a fast wipe down....in Holland most people don't care much about their cars, I do, but not really the clean-ness of my engine bay.
Or you can remove that aswell and take a larger CAF 76mm. If you can get one with metal windings in it you can make it fit to the oval in the airbox.
check my post.

Just for mauricio and everybody who is intrested :)
My CAF (pikey solution...as always)
Anyway I removed the complete hose including the hard-plastic part that ducts from the original hose to the airbox.
The hole on the airbox is oval and I used a 76mm hose which has a metal band in...
Nice maths JonC ;)
I was too lazy to calculate again.
I know the filters are the same, only a different box...if the inlets of the box aren't restricting airflow there might not be any benefit to fit a clio cup racer airbox.
Anyway bin the valve :D
I see two tights bends...Cold-airfeed to the filter and from filter to the throttlebody. I would try and sort those bends a bit.
Is this kit developed for the 197?
I spoke to dave (d4ve) about this Ph-1 / Clio cup airbox once before and he fitted the standard ITG filter for a Clio Ph1 if I remember correctly.
Also I thought the airbox of the Ph-1 has 2x 70mm holes where the CAF should be fitted on. The Clio cup airbox has a 100mm hole which has a larger...
Ok JonC,
Strange it did not react then. However when the engine is under load it makes another sound (air pressure) and then the valve might be actuated.
Like when you rev the car in neutral you never get the low down grunt as when driving it, and flooring from 2000rpm.
ECU measures...
JonC,
Did you have the electrics on the valve? Can't see it not working when warm or cold.
BTW I removed mine a while ago and lost it somewhere :D
Mauricio,
I'll take a pic of mine in the weekend. gives you an idea.
I guess you are talking about the RS-tuner kit from fastchip.
City driving it's about 1:10 (Litre:km) you do the math. Used to be a tad more economic, but when you compare to other hot hatches it's still running cheap.
Highway driving (holland-germany-austria) complete was 1:14 and that was...
So not where the schmuck is near the hole...that's a bit crippled at my car...haven't done that myself....
however you need a good jack to get to that chassis rails fred...can see that being done with the shitty jack that came with the car..(should have binned it yeah I know :) )
Franx Hillpower sells these elbows with a breather setup....connect just like to original elbow, only smoother/wider inside diamter and not ribs if I remember correctly. So can be cut right to the size so everthing fits like a glove.
(there might be more who sell these)
Ow and we talked...
@Paul: Are these 15mm washers also fitted to the standard FF clio? Does these washer lower the seat by 15mm? or are they 15mm outer/inner diameter which I think they are? Sorry for all these questions but I haven't had my seat out, but I am well intrested.
Nice Frank !
I was thinking about this aswell. But you got the airbox from marktplaats ;-) Some day I will and might try aswell, also an exhaust if the old one finaly goes.
Haven't read about the elbow, and also was surpriced that you posted it did not fit properly. Anyway I ready about the...
LOL leafblower + Nozzz :P
I actually believe these things could work but never as good as a genuine turbo or compressor.
If you fit two good calculated blowers to you air feeds of the airbox and map accordingly I am confinced you could see nice gains (specially low down the rev range.) Due...
So left 8th of march with changed oil and new coolant, the usual windscreen stuff, and as soon as I crossed the German border some RON100 fuel (In Holland ron98 is highest we can get).
The trip to Austria went great.
Making a pitstop.
The drive was about 1050km (650miles) but due to relax...
Nice one Tonykart (jeffrey ;) )
Anyway can't you take of the red thrompet and fixate the hose to the grill. (The hose is black or grey isn't it?)
The trompet you can sell on ebay, for people who do want to get it cut in the grill / bumper
by the looks of it the inner thread is well mashed up.
Is the hole completely going through? if so you could try with a bit bolt and putting it in from beneath
You can ask Henk I think he has some more map then on his site. I also don't know if any file can be uploaded.
Also if the file is corrupted you can get some damage I think.
I've emailed them once for the trackdays they organize, but they did not reply. (was in english)
So frank if you want me to try to get one from france, I will do my best to type it in frence. Just give me the contact info you got?
