No and it will keep the throttle body clean (and the rest of the inlet traject)
However you must check the filter regulary, because it can get greacy due to fumes.
well I think that will fit, might be some minor problems with the heat shields near the cat. I'm sure it won't fit the standard system cat-->back.
However there must be some reason why they sell the special sport cat with the 182 manifold ?
Depends on the color of your car mate! :)
If you have a blue one it might be schweeeeet!!
But I think I might get them trimmed with the original colors, but that because I just think the car should be standard mostly besides power-mods.
sure mate! just come over to the Netherlands, I'll give you a special tour du red-light and we can visit Frank and get some skunk :)
Talking about de-cat and stuff :P
Anyway does k-tec / yozza do a backbox only for the 172?
172 and 182 are different stories I believe!
Since the 182 already has a 200cel cat the difference is less. Also the manifold is better and might suffer from less backpressure without the cat.
The 172 cat is 400cell and much more restrictive. Changing from 400 to 200cell makes a difference...
I noticed the same with my radio.
I think it's due to putting the radio on pause/mute and then turning the car off. If you come back later to start the car the radio is off?
Well I am not bothered with it so I did not pay any extra attention to it, so I am not 100% sure.
I did about 35000-40000km with my Pe2's, but the corners were getting slick-like. The middle of the tyre had more then enough profile on them.
Running conti sport contact 2 on the front now and pe2 on the back (which has less life in them) but the pe2's own the conti's. Can't get the back out...
That's cool Frank! Will be on holiday halfway next week (5th march - 15 march), so we will be in contact after that.
Good luck mounting it in the mean while.
Looks good Fubar!
Make sure you don't get you car fubar (fucked up beyond any repair) if something falls into the lower inlet manifold. (will end up in the engine)
Thanks! :) I thought it was perfectly clear what I meant ;)
Anyway on monday I arranged a car lift at work and I have 2 hours so going to inspect the most of it. Ow and still need to change oil and coolant!
Ok bump and another question,
How can I check if the following parts are worn:
- bushings from the wishbones.
- bushings from the anti roll bar (ARB).
- top mount from the suspension turrets.
And are the bushing from the wishbones easy to change? (picture in my first post)
The cup racer has an open filter at the same sport where the battery used to be. It also has a heat shield fitted, to separate the engine compartment and the battery compartment.
Did you already replace your cat, frank?
Hey frank,
Yeah my old inlet manifold is for sale. End of this weeks it leaves my room for 25 euro's unless someone is bidding more.
You got the ph1 box out of oosterhout right? I was thinking about getting it. Well I read the ph1 box is a bit better then the ph2/182.
No sorry I haven't made my own IK :) Have thought about it but I find it to cost too much money for something I make just for the fun of it.
Well I don't have a ph1 box else I would have measured them for you by now :)
Good luck and let me know how things work out
So you want to put a conefilter in the airbox and close it like it should when fitted with a normal filter?
Sound wise it will not bring anything when the standard CAF's are fitted I guess.
Usually larger filter-area is better/easier air flowing through. I think the ITG or any other brand...
Alex D are you thinking about putting a cone-filter in the airbox?
ITG sells a replacement filter for the ph1 airbox.
Looking at pictures of the cup race airbox (espace v6) I think the airbox is 150+mm round might be 180 even.
Lately I have noticed scraping sound from my suspension on the passenger-side (for uk this is the drivers-side). I only hear this sound when going over some speed-bumps, and not even always and with different speeds.
I have been thinking of replacing the bushings from the wishbones. I do not...
do you need to take the cam cover off or only the bolts out?
At my work (ministry of defense) the mechanics use loctite. (fluid gasket or for fixing bolts)
However I don't know the job you have to do.
Well yeah it might be a small thing, but if something goes wrong you are in s**t. If they make it go wrong it's their fault and you have more waranty when it comes back.
If the oil is near the left plug it could just be spilled when filling / topping up the oil.
Compression check and check the spark plugs when you take them out?
Lack of power could be all sorts of things.
