I can't stand both the Desklets tha Linux offers or the sidebar from Vista. The only gadgets worthwhile are Apple's. I like the fact that they appear upon pressing the function key.
On the Vista note, I don't have the RTM, but do have RC2 and can't see the point in splashing my cash till this...
Firefox managed sites with popups etc. better. ;) Although I can't comment much on IE7, only that I had the layout and can't change how it's laid out either.
I managed to get Vista RC2 to blue screen everytime it turned off, but this was only because I loaded a Windows XP driver for my ATI card, so I could run games on it. Once ATI released a new version of the driver, it has been fine ever since.
RC2 is a lot better than RC1, fixed a lot of the errors. I'm currently running RC2 at the moment and the only problem I have on the whole system is the compatibility of my TV Tuner card.

Completely agree, if people know what they are doing, Windows is fine.
Linux will have to change it's ways to get into the home market, as there is no chance that you will find the average user using the command line.

Ditto, I got the Philips TV as well, great picture. Saw the Toshiba TV in Comet and it was cheaper in there than the link you posted. Think it was £699.
