just had my car on a diagnostic after it was playinf up for a bit. Thought it was a sensor or coil as it went down a cylider and the electrical warning light came on i think (box with a wire through it). this only seemed to happen when i hit a bad pothole. coincidence?
any way got the code...
mate you should try it. i have one on mine non rs though only real moddin is the ends need trimed and i shortened the centre supports to make it fit better. get a mate to hold it in place, pilot hole self tappers sorted. theres wee triangle spaces on it for screws.
eddes right near enough every 02 wit a sun roof seems to have this problem round about now after 4/5 years the seals dissolve on the sun roof. you will more than likely find its not the norm blocked duct or rubber leak it will be the seal between the plastic frame and the roof its self. iirc...
cheers for the reply mate much appreciated. thought as much. he pulled and pulled till he pulled the spring out! then turned and said "now if that happened on the road..." lol my jaw near hit the floor.

in this case it sounds like the head gasket (sorry) but a compression test will tell. the mayo is common if your cars only been doing short journies like in the case of the old fella. this is a particular prob with the 1.4 and inparticular the 1.2 with short journies. its condensation as dynamo...
