I'm no expert mate but from what you have said could it be possible that your head gasket has blown? I'm sure that someone else will be along in a wee bit to say if this could be the case or not but I believe that running at a higher temp and losing coolant can be signs of a blown head gasket.

I would tend to agree with waiting a bit longer because if you go with the high milage one you may end up paying the extra in repair and maintenance costs.

I think the valver looks better but I would have the uno over the valver purely because it sounds like it would be a fun and fast car to drive - even if it would be a bit lethal. BTW how old were you when you passed your test as that UNO must have cost a forune to insure.

Im in the same situation mate (see my post from a few days ago) as I have just noticed some rust coming through (still below the paint) on one of my rear arches. Im going to leave mine a little while to see how cash works out but will probably get some new metal welded in.

Try a quote online with elephant - I think they can give you a pretty reasonable quote. Let us know what you get it insured for as I am about the same age, but im not really planning on changing my car soon because of insurance.
