just confirm JME it was my injector. all ok now. might be worth getting it looked or certainly checking your coil pack, ht leads & spark plugs, then get it diagnosed to see what the fault code is :)

no the fuel rail guard if thats what your referring to should have two bolts holding it on.

i think its more to do with the engine revs dropping back to idle so the noise lessens.

constantly noisy, worse when driving and the revs are up, as soon as i dip the clutch it goes (with road noise, cant hear it anymore) lift clutch and it comes back. i had the gearbox reconned over a year ago, the garage removed the bar that goes from the subframe to the top of the inner arch...

nope its from the drivers side, and it was doing it with my standard airbox, it definately wasn't there before, i left it for 4 days, then started it and there's the noise. its a noisy bearing i think coming from the alternator or the idler pulley etc.

dont know if your talking to me or OP, but i had a compression test done on mine and it was fine. and it doesnt run hot etc. mine is definately coming from my engine as i've had all the bumper off etc to locate the noise. its getting a new injector put in today so hopefully it'll be...

i had the 406 1.9dt as a stop gap car, was very comfy, had good mpg, and used to outpace my mates 106 gti on the motorway. would go back to one but only if it had the power to go with it tbh 2.0 trubo sounds fun and for £50 you cant really go wrong!!

the track rod ends are fine as they've both now been changed, i think its more down to the PAS rack tbh.

^^ mine this exact thing and i had it tracked at Kwik fit too!! they managed to shear the bolt off the track rod end when doing mine, so had to replace that, then it still wasn't right so they did they track rod inners, then they did the bottom ball joints?? dont ask me why lol, it feels...

injector is circa £70

is the tensioner kit part of the cambelt assembly? i have a hissing like noise from the front offside of my engine too. almost like a hose is split. gets louder with more revs etc

well i had my neighbour whos a mechanic check it out on his diagnostic machine, otherwise not sure? i'm hoping its not expensive for an injector, i'm thinking approx £30-40, my cars sat on my drive waiting for my neighbour to fix it tomorrow.

all you have to do is look behind the drivers side headlight, theres a hole in the top of the front impact panel, you can see the plug from above, its fiddly to do but if you use a torch you'll find it. its the only plug other than the headlight bulbs thats in that area!!

i have this prob too, but i think the injector on mine is actually kanckered, would be nice to check if the mulitplug is just knackered though. when i traced the cabling from the injectors they just looked like they ran into the loom then back to the ecu.

Re: Car bollocksed yet again injector maybe? mine has the same problem, changed the coil pack, turns out its the injector.

piece of piss mate! get one from gsf approx £50-£60 take the door card off, unbolt the mechanism, unclip the glass from the mechanism, refit. took me 20 mins in my lunch break when mine went.

had it on a diagnostic machine today, found its cylinder number 4 injector thats faulty. anyone know if you can buy individual injectors or you have to buy the whole rail?

do a search, theres loads of threads about it! if its the same as the ph1's the cobra renault alarm module is under the passenger airbag. what makes you think its the alarm? what is it actually doing?
