I knocked together one of my trolleys which the shell will sit on in the garage for ease of movement.

Started to crack on with the inner arch again. This, again, is not by any means a direct fitment as plenty of marking up and testing had to be done to get this in the...

Got properly stuck into re-modelling the inner arch using poverty spec repair panels. By no means are they a direct fit for a 16v/Williams. These are Klokkerholm items and are good quality.
If you want to replicate the 16v/Williams rear arches using these panels then you will have...
Only just realised that I hadn't worked on the car for a very long time - basically the complete winter season and it was very sporadic with little direction...
Here is a bit more progress.

Started chopping the rotten areas away after taking delivery of my new R-Tech welder.

Made a start on the interior strip-down.
Nice bit of rot...

Made a start on the brakes too.

Things were getting a bit dark in the garage so I wired some stip lights to a 3 pin plug. Winner.
Cheers for looking.
Seeing as I haven't updated the thread in quite some time, it is about time to do it.

The beginning of the front end strip-down.

Further strip-down of suspension.

Subframe removed and dropped the engine.
Good afternoon,
Could anyone tell me what the part numbers are for the bottom ball joints, the roll centre pins/adaptors and top hat/bush for the track rods are for the Clio Cup Racecars are please?
Also, if anyone actually knows if they are still available to buy from Renault?
Cheers,
Josh
Definitely a couple of the smaller ones and one of the bolts that hold the breather plate to the cover.
I will find out how many more when I take the cover off to get one of the snapped ones out.
I gather you will have a few in stock?
Hi all,
Does anyone know of anywhere to get hold of the cam cover bolts that hold the cam cover to the head which aren't directly from Renault?
Has anyone used any normal bolts instead of the Renault ones?
Cheers,
Josh
Are you on Clio16valver.co.uk?
My thread is on there from the original conversion I did. Then my second thread has been started on here and on Clio16valver.
Josh
100% (or near enough) standard was going to be my plan too. Always fancied mine to be like the Gr.A Clio rally cars... So thats where it is headed seeing as I am quite far down the line anyway.
Go standard. Will look really nice.
Josh
I was about to have a go when I saw this:
Glad you have seen sense to carry on and save a MK1 like what I will be doing.
I wont be able to join your MK1 only crew as I did the 172 conversion a few years back. It is now going boost on that engine...
Keep up the good work. Certainly keeping...
Love this project!
Loved it when I first joined C16v many moons ago when it was 432 blue.
Keep up the good work. It is certainly motivating me to get on with mine more.
Josh
Top work!
I have all this to come very soon once I have stripped it all down to a bare shell.
How come you cut the rear quarters so high up - past the shoulder line of the arch? That is the part that governs the valver wider rear arch.

Not much of an update on the progress on the Clio - just a bit of a prep of the working space around it. But still thought I'd get some pictures of it and get in the daily RT
The daily and not-so-daily...
Also mounted my pin board to help organise and manage the project...
Hi all.
Finally after over a years worth of the car being sat, SORN, feeling sorry for itself being in a poor state due to me having to travel with work in something 'normal' and moving house a lot.
It is now back!
Some of you may remember the car from my old thread on Clio16valver.co.uk...
Gutted to hear about the car Chip. Glad nobody was hurt though.
The car could have turned out worse if it impacted one of the corners.
It would be a massive shame for it not to be back to its former glory and not get the b18 turbo...
Josh
Keep going mate. Ive had to do a lot of bodywork to mine and will have to do plenty more when I pull my finger out.
It will certainly be worth it in the end.
