ive always fancied making a quick supercharged vts, but its kinda been done to much now. i think they look alright for there age, its just they are very basic. but then then mkes for their low weight (935kg vtr, 975kg vts)
hmmm tough call. having owned a 197, i think i would opt for the trophy. not much in it. my main grudge with my 197 was the lack of low down umph. that aside i really liked it to be honest. interiors really nice.
trophy obvisouly has that low down urge covered, the only thing your left with...
Hello,
What insurance companys are people on here with, renaultsport owners only please???
I just had a 995 quid renewal quote - and I am 24!! Thats AWFUL.
I got a years extra no claims and its gone up by 350 quid, ive tried a few more and no avail! lowest I got is 750 which is still...
best thing to do, rather than guess is ring your loacl renault dealer up and ask them to look. have the details ready and they can tell you the month it was made.
you want one with the cambelt done, because you can add 500 quid onto the car itself if it isnt.
And to ad - the steering wheels do wear on the ph1s badly.
i thought most 182s put out about 188 anyway. i know the 172s used to underperform.
I went to a RR day ages ago, as in 3-4 years with my 182 when I brough it new, and it got 188. Cant remember how many miles it had on it though.
make sure cambelts recent, brakes have been done, exhaust is good along with nice body work and fsh and you should be fine. They are reliable (ive owned 4 and done about 60000 all in all and not had one failure except servicing items as mentioned).
it would void the warranty on that part. And anything related.
I.e. suspension would void suspension, joints, car rattles etc as the dealer is naturally going to want your money and not the crap labour % they get from renault uk.
Prob the biggest difference you will feel will be when you change gear and dont sometimes fall out the rev range ;)
7800 will be ok on the clio engine.
I had a CTR with a few cars before the 197, so sort of hard to compare directly. But performance the CTR is a bit better, but all other areas I preferred the 197. Its a much more modern car.
Actually I beg to disagree, as the 180s are known for understeer.
There wouldnt b a lot in a straight line race, i reckon the clio would edge it. Doesnt anyone know the quarter mile times for the gti-180s?
0-60s are a bit vague tbh.
Your ecu remapped or not isnt optimised for 102 ron. You wouldnt see near nil gain from putting 102 ron in it. Only benefit you would get is more mpg because the fuel is cleaner and would burn more efficently. And that mpg difference doesnt compensate the 100% more you paid!
