Fly figures are mostly bull anyway. Its wheel figures that should be measured, they are the important ones. Its what you get down on the road that matters.
And pbirkett - your correct the MPS would be quicker, but not in every situation. 4WD is not the be and end all, in the dry I wouldnt...
id say as per millerlights comment. vxr on a quicker track be it only just, and tight circuit/most british tracks id pick the 182, assuming it had cup packs.
i ate a corsa vxr in my old lcr - but still quite impressed with how it went being i was over 100hp more.
both my directors at work have ordered one for delivery next year (july and september)
That timeing is a slight con though - check where the start the stop watch, and then stop it! the laps actually in the 7.40s! typical cheating japs. if they did the extra part of straight, it wouldnt have...
lol @ page 8 - who ever told u the 6 speed vag gearbox was strong was having a complete laugh. they are tosh, my friend has gone through two on his audi tt 225, within 20k miles and he isnt even an intensive driver!
I assume we are talking track conditions. In which case it partly depends on the turbo setup, and power delivery but my money would be on the NA car.
In gear times would go to the turbo yes.
but
engine response would be in the NA engine favour
peak power would be in the NA engine...
i think the ctr looks pish, interiors are quite cool tho. im sure its a good car, and wouldnt doubt the reliability, even tho my old ep3 needed a top end rebuild at 6k miles! ;)
id get a nearly new 197
right - i can talk on this one
if you want default sound, do not buy the 172 kwik fit system. the guy i got my 172 off brought one, i have the recepit, its 2 months old and its pretty aftermarket noisey. so much so, im going to spend my own money on a gen renault system next week. it sounds...
the new mcs are fast, very common to get low 16s and late 15s to the ton!
old ones were quite slow on comparison - more like strong warm hatch pace.
new ones are good :)
Hi everyone,
Does anyone know price of standard system, centre section and rear box for my 172? I dont want an upgrade one, i want the quietness. the guy who i brought it from, had a quikfit one put on, but its very noisey!
i had a 182, but actually switched from a 172ph1 to a 197. I liked everything about the 197 more except the pre 3000rpm pull and the buzzy high revs on the motorway. i understand they raised the ratios on 4th and 5th now a bit, only like 1mph per 1k rpm though.
That aside, interiors miles...
ive owned a lcr, which was modded so cant really say its far to compare to 182, my lcr was granted quicker in a straight line but was a bit of a boat on corners, altho alright. obvisouly not 4wd tho, saying that my friends tt isnt all that hot all things being. basically a golf 4motion with 1.8t ;)
They only do a ton in 18 secs. pretty similar to the clio in all fairness.
will say tho, the e30 (edition 30 ones) which have 230hp, remap to 310hp! Due to the k04 turbo. They fly then :D
