renaultsports have always been pretty close. I liked the handling of the 197, be it only jus over the 182 I had. The 172 Ph1 felt the most nervous, but was good fun. Nothad much time to play with this one to be fair.
I have also had a Leon Cupra R which was mapped, so was quicker in a...
Got my 172 today (my 4th Renaultsport). I last had a blue 197 & Since then had a modded Leon Cupra R and currently still on the drive, a 120d M sport (177hp model).
Anyway here is a pic of her
Really chuffed, bargain price. Needs a bit of attention but not that much! Wheels are...
I am looking at selling mine, again, because I need to get something bigger. 10k miles, albi blue. pm me if any one genuines interested. its not advertised on autotrader yet
Inbetween Aylesbury and milton keynes (wing I think the place is called), you flashed your lights at me but I only just realised when you were past that it was a renaultsport!
id agree, id say the 197 is quicker cross country, handling is to good. tbh i dont think its much slower neither and ive had all renaultsports in clio trim nor bar the v6
The m3 is 11 secs to 100, the vee are about 15?! and power comes into its own at speed, so that makes no sense... lol
cars are looking stunning though, bueatiful stuff!!
strangled because tvr's, rover's, mgs are all shite and behind the times. Dont you think the mg zt with its 4.6 litre ancient only 260bhp engine proved that
summary
your car = a tarty rover 416 with a bigger engine, which are s**t anyway
mg zr = far behind the times, they got introduced...
ive done a 182 - 172 rs1 - 197, and am LOVING IT. handling is super, and it slipsteams a 172/182 easily, not done side by side, but gives you a idear its basically as quick! breaks batter as aswell.
on a sensible note, its much nicer inside, a bit more refined (def with wind noise) and got...
they quality on fuel, cane em or not. mine usedto be 10mpg better than my old type r. even my 197 is averaging 30 on hard driving, 34 on easy motorway driving.
it was mine!!!!!! haha!!! Hey!!!!

Was giving you a high speed chase on the motorway today, in my albi blue 197!! Had a exhaust on it, sounded nice! I think it would have been close if I wasnt on ya slipstream!!! Hi Anyway.
ive had both 182 and ctr, and found the ctr a tiny bit quicker, and to be honest it would be undetectable by most. 182 is more fun though. and for reliability, the ctr is the only car i had which broke, it had to have a full engine rebuild at 6,000 miles because of a flat valve. granted, it was...
yeah had a love phase for grey mcs' with black stripes, i wanted large leggeras on one! I ordered a mcs for a while then brought the 182 at the time!!! got bored of the huge waiting list, was nearly a year!!
its power to weight is better than a ph2 172
has anyone a gtech, and got a good sporting personality, because I would love to compare, just dont want to rub the 172/182 owner up the wrong way when the figures dispense on the meter
i bet half the 197 slaters on here, will own one WHEN THEY...
If someone has a gtech I will use it, i wanna take mine to pod. its not that slow regardless. i went on a fairly hardcore drive with my mate who has a 55 reg ctr, and there was nothing in it, when i was behind i was pulling on him on his air. speed I have had a indicated 140, just as easily as...
