Thats me and Nick at teh French Sports Club meet! I know your car from CH, Ross your name is I believe...
And my car was shockingly dirty.....
I have seen your car before, even when it was standard (I went to all of 2x CH meets with my silver 182, same as Nicks seen here)
Kris - that would break down x10 more aswell (I know they can run 400bhp on std internals but all the same)
comparing a 197 to that, is like comparing mayonaise to mustard, both good just one extreme or the other
I couldnt comment on overall duration of a 1*2 engine compared to a vw, as we all know, vw engines do last the miles NORMALLY, subject to some having major failures on the way, however in terms of niggles, i.e. coilpacks, electrical, any forms of control units (i.e. engine, convience control...
y would you want a vag engine, they have no character, and there so over ratted on the reliability front, I used to work for em for a year, and the same cars were in again and again for different things everytime.
You gotta be kidding, i have had all the listed here, and the honda had a higher plastic ratio than a barbie doll. Plus the dash looks like a merc sprinters just in silver. just about every rival to the ctr has a nicer interior, bar the rs1 172 as the colour cordination is a bit shite. secondly...
yeah the m3 had the old stig. a r32 wouldn't stay within half a mile of a well driven m3. my dads owned both (a mk4 r32 anyway). m3 is a different ballpark. Remeber - it weighs about the same, its rwd (so far less transmission loss), and its 100bhp up.
my own opinion, which is different to...
the only thing i dnt like (bein honest) about the meg, is the back. I just cannot get used to it. other than that, I really like the front, most the side (the back coming into view). Cabins are nice to, and the obvious advantage is that the torque. To be fair, they cant really make the clio...
greater ease, not speed. A well driven 172/182 would be the more able, worst case as able. there pounded with great comments. Granted yours looks like a trophy/cup so im sure its great. to be fair i think most hot hatches are easier to extract full potential out of that the 172/182, its...
meg is faster going straight, it aint quicker going left and right and under braking. same brakes (well same pads), clio weighs less. id put money on clio beating meg on a track. bar maybe full silverstone circuit.
just buy a 172. it will be worth more when u sell it on then aswell. engine 3k, brakes 1k, suspension 500 quid... etc etc. js buy one.
and turboing a skyline? GTS is single turbo and GTR twin. You've not done much research really.
i have owned both rs1 172 and 182, and brought a 197 last weekend. I think its improved in every department. braking, more responsive steering (infact dare i say it - it seemed much more responsive), better gearbox, just as fast as either clio ive had after the 5k mark (tho slightely off pace...
