I think the only time auto car washs cause a problem is on brand new paint as it only fully hardens after a while.

One of my neighbours washs his Fronterra every week with one and its always gleaming. Never done it any harm. Before any one says anything this is one of the top of the range 3.2 V6 luxury ones not a rusty old cack can.

Get it de-locked while your there, it dont cost huge amounts and will porb work out cheaper if you get it all in one. Just remember it becomes a pain when the battery goes tits up and you have to crawl in through the boot! (Personal experience speaking there)
